• Biography

  Born somewhere in the Twelveswood, Sid had only seen six namedays before she was exiled from her home. A few months, she wandered aimlessly through the shroud before she was found by an Ala Mhigan refugee, and a former Fist of Rhalgr. While Sid was wary of the woman at first, the two became close, eventually the Ala Mhigan adopting Sid and raising her as her own. While they did truly love each other, they hardly ever had time to play games or do any sort of 'fun' activities; it was always work for the two.
  
  Eventually, the two had earned enough gil to settle down in the Silver Bazaar, and started working as sailors for a merchant making trades between Vesper Bay and Limsa. For a few years, they worked harsh days with repairs, with cargo storage, essentially everything and anything they could do to get the extra gil coin. A month after Sid celebrated her fifteenth nameday, their ship was beset by pirates on the way to Limsa. The young woman and her mother fought against them, her mother showing her skill in monkhood.
  
  Sadly, it was for naught. The pirates were not only prepared for a fight, there were more of them than crew on the ship they worked. The Ala Mhigan had her throat slashed and thrown into Sid's lap before the pirates pulled Sid away below deck to strip and torture her, seeing how much she would sell as a slave. As the young Sid was trapped below deck, the Maelstrom had boarded both ships, capturing and killing the pirates before they found Sid below deck being burned for 'insubordination'.
  
  Forever indebted to Limsa's navy, Sid thought with nowhere left to go in her life, she would put herself to work for the Maelstrom, where they found her natural skill in crafts.
  
  With Sid’s new found skill, the Maelstrom originally funded her learning with the armors and Blacksmiths. With her lessons only lasting for a month before she felt she had learned all she could, she went to Maelstrom command to inform them she wished to begin a journey to learn all the crafts of Eorzea. Of course, the leadership felt they didn’t want to lose someone of her skill, so they offered her a deal; they would pay her expenses so long as she would return and work for them for at least three years.
  
  Sid accepted the deal, now having seen her twentieth nameday. She traveled the continent, saving her return to Gridania last, even managing to see Coerthas Central Highlands before it became the land of endless snow. Her time learning was cut short as the invasion of the XIVth legion began into Eorzea. She was called back to Limsa to serve in the creation of arms and armor for soldiers. “Nothing like trial by fire,” was what she would always tell herself while she was working. It was grueling.
  
  Years after the Calamity, Sid finally felt her debt to Limsa had been repaid, and she traveled to the Far East, wanting to see life outside of Eorzea. She traveled mostly in Kugane, then to Yanxia to see the new metals and fabrics available. Eventually, she returned home with a new companion Gyoni (A namazu), starting a workshop of her own.
