This 21 floor building is located on the edge of the Commerce District. North River Park is a few blocks away. The buildings fall back to surround the large urban greenspace. A winding road through the park connects this less dense commercial space with downtown's more crowded hub.
Several high end shops dot the ground floor of some of the office buildings. There are a variety of restaurants in the area around the park. The packed city streets are full of competing taxicabs.
There is an almost futuristic atmosphere throughout the building. Much of the interior design & architecture is based on an ultramodern motif. Backlit panels give each room an almost sci-fi glow. Large glass windows bring an airy feel to many of the open rooms. Certain hallways are covered with bright abstract art. Wooden floors creak here under the weight of traveling workers.
A high end pastry shop rents space on the first floor. Expect long lines there at breakfast. On a busy day, Ed orders a smoothie here for lunch. -
Veronica Bohannon, HR Dept.
Veronica is the rain in Edgar's parade. Over the past few months, she's really begun to confront Edgar on his behavior around the office. She doesn't like his jokes or his flirting. Her stern demeanor is rarely amused by Ed's jovial nature. She is fairly strict and completely by-the-book. It's not just Ed that she has an eye on.
Many people around the office see her as bitter or power hungry. She also comes off as jealous and hostile. Some people hide from her when they hear the sound of her heels moving down the hall. Ed tries to use humor to deflect Veronica's intimidation. She doesn't seem to go for it.
The manager has bright blonde hair, light blue eyes and fair skin. She wears expensive, wood framed glasses. Her wardrobe is made up of mostly skirts, blouses and the occasional pantsuit.
She doesn't hang out with many people in the office. She's out of the cliques and inner circles. Instead, she seems bent on establishing order. If Veronica sees anything out of place, she will confront people involved.
Edgar isn't too worried about her. He's got serious connections here. He just has to appease her. Maybe he'll win her over one day.
