WORK OF MYSTERIOUS STREET ARTIST, PRODUCER
SPOTTED IN DOWNTOWN BASIN CITY By Derek Broadmeyer, Sin City Tribune All it took was one night and already the people of Basin City are talking about it. If you are heading down Main and 6th, it would be difficult to miss: A 70 foot mural depicting the mayor standing proudly at his podium, waving to the crowd while behind his back he appears to be handing money to the devil himself. For most of the morning, the identity of the vandal went unknown. That was until the local morning news was hijacked, cutting to a series of bleak and ominous images of war, a slaughterhouse, former corrupt politicians, and greed. Before networks could regain control, a very simple image of a logo could be seen before flickering to nothing but static. The logo itself would be recognized by younger citizens almost immediately. The vandal and hacker involved? He goes only by one name: Pinion. His work includes vandalism (most revere it as street art), activism, and is also known as a producer and musician. Many of his contributions have been spotted in other major US cities, all fueling those who follow his work to question authority. The most recent mural he had painted in Los Angeles sparked a 50,000 person protest against police violence which quickly became a riot once authorities were called to scene. |
It seems as though Pinion has brought his fight to our doorstep.
Though many are excited that he is here, there are some who are concerned that another incident, similar to the one in L.A. might occur. BCPD is encouraging the public to ignore and and all disruptions from Pinion and are increasing patrols to monitor vandal activity. |
