Effemy MacFeigan

Effemy hasn't always had the easiest life. Her upbringing was tumultuous and troubled, her Father once a jovial man in his youth, had been beaten down by life and unfortunate circumstances which drove him to the bottle, and her Mother was a shrill, emotionally abusive and perpetually miserable woman. Their marriage was dysfunctional, to say the least, and as their only child, Effie was often the brunt of both of their frustrations. Effie escaped home the instant she was old enough to, she still has contact with her Father but has almost entirely cut her Mother out of her life.

Always a driven girl, Effie strove to do well in school, her stellar grades and active hand in community service saw her get a substantial scholarship to the University of her choice. Having always had a taste for helping people, and having excelled in sciences, she chose to pursue a medical degree, and after eight years of schooling, she has finally made it to her first year of residency. It is a grueling, exhausting time in her life, she has very little free time, almost no money and an almost constant headache, but she wouldn't trade a second of it.

Gregory MacFeigan: Effemy's Father. He is a retired School bus driver, and at one time was quite a happy man. The laugh lines on his face said as much though he rarely smiles these days unless he's trashed. He is a heavily dysfunctional alcoholic and at times a real pain in Effie's butt. Still, she has a soft spot for him, life dealt him a hard hand and a cruel wife, she does what she can to help him.

Marjorie MacFeigan: Effemy's Mother. A sour woman, with a heavy sense of entitlement, and a penchant for emotional abuse and manipulation. She is always perpetually miserable about something and turns most things into a power struggle. Effie has little affection for her, but can occasionally be drawn into her drama under the right circumstances, often pertaining to her Father. She was otherwise cut the woman out of her life.

Gizmo: Effie's 3 year old papillon. He's a sweet little dog, who is more or less well behaved. Effie loves him to the moon and back.
