• Description

  Belen is a mix between a siren and a lionfish mer, which is extremely common, since siren often have sex with their prey in order to get their guard down before killing them.
  
  Belen has fair skin, wavy black hair, blue eyes, and iridescent black scales. He has a long, whiplike body, and his fins are ragged-edged and contain venom-filled spines.

• Sirens

  Belen is a siren, which is a cousin to merfolk but very, very different. They are carnivorous, hunters, and devourers of all living things, humans and merfolk included. They boast two sets of teeth, normal, flatter teeth which are normally out, and a second set of deadly sharp fangs which descend when a siren is hunting or feels threatened. Some also boast a set of venomous spines in his fins, much like a lionfish or rockfish, which paralyzes his prey; he can hit them with them in close range, or remove them and throw them, though he prefer to avoid doing so as they take some time to grow back. Sirens also have a hypnotizing call that only works above the water; they have a set of lungs alongside their gills for this purpose.
  
  Sirens have been known to work alongside sharks, but this is a tenuous alliance; both species would happily kill and devour each other should the opportunity arise. When it comes to humans and merfolk, they tend to use either their call or seduction to find prey; it's not uncommon for them to have sex with a naive merperson only to kill and eat them when they're blissed out from orgasm.
  
  They can leave the water for a short while, with up to a day or so before they are forced to return. When they dry out, which usually takes about an hour after leaving the water, their tails split and they form legs; and I do mean they literally split, causing them to leave behind a pile of gore and discarded flesh.
