That is where Ethaniel is stuck, in the place between the screaming pain of loss and the searing agony of being forced to go on with a life he no longer wants. He can not dig himself out of it and he can not hide. He is in limbo. Or rather, in the shadows of the sunny life he once had. He could almost taste the sweetness of what he lost on his tongue, as if he were trying to recall a name that has escaped him.
