Appearance: Rod is a broad and tall man with long reddish-orange hair tied back in a braided ponytail. He possesses a long bushy orange full beard with graying streaks in it that extends down to his chest. Noteworthy are occasional disorganized braids with pink bowtie ends through the beard itself; Nora used to be allowed to braid his beard, and he formed a habit of doing it himself after the 'incident'. His left eye socket is covered by an eye patch with his personal emblem on the front (Nora's own emblem, but red). Underneath, three claw marks can be visibly seen running from his brow to his cheek in a diagonal formation.

He wears a black leather breastplate over red longsleeved shirt with a red cloak over it. Over the cloak is a black furred shoulder covering. For the leggings, he wears black jeans leather armor covering each side along with red leather greaves running up his legs, as well as matching leather bracers lining his arms to the elbow.
Weapon: Dreyrugr Hofoingi, in its sheathed state, resembles a large crossbow with a straight handle and retracted curves. When in crossbow state, the curves spring outward to reveal the full crossbow appearance, with a lever action stance. Crossbow bolts are fired from the cartridge by pulling the level on the side of the weapon (similar to Ruby's Crescent Rose). The bolts can come in wide variety, but explosive are the go to for Rod. Cartridges only hold 7 bolts before needing to be reloaded. In its full form, the crossbow's back end extends full outward and a thick spear with runic adornments protects from the front. The spear itself is nearly as long as Rod is tall.

Personality: Rod is a jovial and boisterous man who laughs whenever he gets the chance to. He's overconfident and boastful, yet deceptively wise. He's quick to make friends, but also quick to anger, and come sometimes be far too trusting of those around him. Rod loved his family deeply, and was utterly devastated for the longest time since the various incidents that tore them apart. He blames himself for his personal shortcomings in that regard, and will often find himself in periods of deep reflection when by himself because of it.

History: In her quest to utterly destroy the world, there were two people that Salem feared could stop her. The first was the silver eyed Summer Rose. The second was Bloodbeard himself. Except, for where Summer had her silver eyes, Bloodbeard had the strength and will to overpower anything Salem would have thrown his way. It was said that no one could beat Rod Blom in a combat. No amount of Grimm or personnel could outmatch him on the field, and no one could see through Salem's plans like him.

Having grown up in Mistral and traveled the Beacon under the time of Ozpin's predecessor, Rod became a fine and powerful warrior, and easily one of the Academy's best. He graduated to huntsmen in only a year's time, and soon would lead the world in taking on the Grimm. When returning to homeland one year, however, Bloodbeard found his greatest weakness yet... love. In a small village while he was traveling the world, he ran into two of the most beautiful women he had ever seen. Perenea and Laramia Valkyrie, twin bartenders with long beautiful whitish blonde hair and lovely aqua eyes. He fell for them immediately, and they with him. Over time, the three settled down to marry and had one child to each wife, Nora and Nanna. However, jealousy between the two sisters split them a part. Laramia felt that Perenea was receiving more attention, and demanded Rod choose. Reluctantly, Rod choice the one that didn't force his hand. Laramia went her separate way, taking Nanna with her and separating her from the loving family she deserved.

Still, everything was happy for the family remaining... and that's what Salem took advantage of. One night, countless Grimm attacked the household. Under normal circumstances, Bloodbeard would easily be able to handle even this level of Grimm coming at him... but he was protecting two others. His spear tore through countless Grimm, but he could not stop them all from getting passed and into his house. By the time the fight was over, his wife lay dead, his right eye had been torn out, and his beloved daughter was missing. Over the next few months, he searched frantically to no avail. In a single day, he had lost nearly everything... and only will to live and get vengeance to drive him forward. That quest has now gone on for seventeen more years. One eyed and aging, the old man is losing his drive with each passing year.

Skill: Crimson possesses insurmountable skill. With his spear and his barehands, he's able to take on nearly any army, regardless of size. His semblence, All Seeing Eye, gave him full omnipresent awareness of his surroundings within one hundred meters of his person. On top of his sharp wit, there was nothing that could overpower or outmaneuver him. Even the young team STRQ couldn't beat him in four on one combat. Since the incident, however, his all seeing eye has diminished to full omniscient awareness on his left side.
