    Atreus: Donaghan came across the Spartan after the latter was attacked and robbed by a vampire. Despite the circumstances, there was a powerful spark between them from the moment they met each others' gaze. The detective walked Atreus home to his cabin in the woods, and returned the following morning with pastries to check in on him. That was when the Spartan revealed a bit of what he was. However, it was not until Atreus saved Donaghan from just the same vampire (and two of its friends), that the two men discovered each other's true natures. After an awkward shower, Don explained the family myth of the Whitehart Curse (in ancient times, Donaghan's ancestor slew a great white stag to sell its pelt at the market, but the stag belonged to the bean sidhe - banshees - of the forest. From that day on, all males of the Whitehart line were cursed to bear the angry spirit of the slain stag). Atreus explained that he was actually born thousands of years ago, and the dramatic family history his life involved. Time will tell where this unusual friendship fraught with sexual tension leads.

      Atreus picked me up a bit ago. Not sure how long, honestly, since I'm fairly certain I slept for two days straight once I hit that bed of ours. Poor bloke's probably worried sick about me... Well, maybe if I shift it'll take care of some of these injuries. The physical ones, at least... The things they did to us in there doesn't just scar the body, I tell you... But I'll go into that later.

      For now, I should paste in the old chief's letter, just so I don't lose it.

      I'm not sure when this is going to reach you, but no doubt it will arrive sometime after I have already boarded a plane to Mexico. As you may know, I requested FEAR and the boys at the LABs extradite your testing process, and have moved mountains of damn paper work to get there. You have no idea the amount of bureaucratic bullshit I had to deal with, Whitehart, but it will be worth it.

      The wife and I are retiring, Whitehart, and I'm leaving you in charge. As of one week after your release, you will be assigned a government watchdog to keep tabs on you, or "assist in SAPD affairs", as they put it. You're one of the best people we've ever had in this city, and I don't care if you're gay, or a supernatural monstrosity, or what - you'll be the best damn thing that's ever happened to the SAPD. I'll also be promoting Detective Donald Darko to assist you.

    • So I Guess I'm Gay As a Fairy Now November 13th 2018

      My therapist back in New York said I should keep my writing up if I didn't want to fall into old habits. That it would help me sort through emotions as well as fine tune my ability to over-ride the dyslexia. With all that's happened since I moved to San Angeles, I guess I just forgot.

      Now, though... Things are starting to clear up. Sure, I'm a supe now, and sure, I almost died to blood suckers several times over, but things could be worse. I called Da to ask him about the Whitehart legend, to tell him that I knew, that I'd finally shifted. He said he was proud of me, that he'd tell Figaro and Robyn to cut out all the teasing when I visited for holidays. What I didn't tell him, though, is that I'm pretty sure I'm falling for a man. It would just shatter him to know his son's a fairy... I can't do that to him. Besides, my brothers would never let me hear the end of it, assuming they were still willing to speak to me at all.

      Being raised Catholic always seemed to be a mixed blessing. I have a good, honest family (except the whole weredeer thing), we're all on good terms, I've got a moral code even the other cops say is admirable. But I've always had this... horrible, crushing guilt. Growing up fancying other boys, learning how to fap on my own, without anyone's help, because I was too afraid they'd tell my Da or Ma, or worse, Father Gregory. That man could make Saint Theresa feel guilty, I swear it.

      Saints preserve my sinful soul, I've gone and royally fucked up my chances of getting into heaven and... I don't rightly care. I'm happy, for once in my life. Scared shitless, but happy. Maybe if I go to confession every day for the rest of my life, God will forgive me. Maybe if I have God on my side, I can tell my Da. Yeah, and maybe I'll meet Santa Claus and have tea with the queen of England herself.
