  • The Dead City

    7/20(Updated!) Once more Eric took a trip to the Dead City, not knowing just what he was walking into this time. Here is what happened...


    Eric and a small crew of twenty men he put together set out towards the place Eric named The Dead City, a near ancient place with towering stone buildings unlike those seen in any other kind of city or kingdom. The ship was nothing special, just a small airship that appeared to be a merchant's ship for transporting good and had very little weaponry on board. As the entered the city airspace a low and heart stopping rumble shook the entire ship from below. A man called the Necromancer whom Eric is hell bent on finding had risen a water dragon from its final resting place and had it attack the ship. It's dagger like claws tore some men from the ships deck and ripped the sails to shreds, it was not long before the ship started to dive down rapidly towards the city. The ship crashed into the side of a building, breaking through the wall and casting four out of twenty men into a dark room within. The rest of the crew either fell to their deaths upon the crash or had been crushed against the building or under the splintered derbies. Though half in a daze the men began arming themselves with whatever they had or could find, as for Eric he carried only his large wrench while other men armed themselves with nailed boards from the ship or used their bare fists. Eric looked around the room as his eyes grew accustomed to the dark, it had been a long time since he last came here but never had he gone into one of these buildings. As they fell he saw the streets littered with undead among faint glowing torch lights, why were there so many now when last time there were so few?
    "The whelp returns..." A cold and sinister voice called out.
    Eric turned to look out through the gaping hole the ship made and to the building across only to see the necromancer and his mother looking at them from a window. There Eric stood still as stone with the sight of his mother and that necromancer only feet across from where he stood. The men saw this and boldly ordered Eric to run which the corgi refused instantly, the men however would not allow this and forced their captain out of the room. After slamming the door shut and locking it behind them, the men knew their fate was sealed but it was all in order to save their captain. Eric began to rather violently pound on the door begging to be let inside, but when the men let out blood curdling screams Eric's heart nearly stopped and fear began to overtake him.
    They were gone, all of them. A putrid stench began to fill the darkened hallway soon joined by what sounded like several creatures hissing, as his eyes just began to grow used to the dark Eric could see undead Nagas slithering towards him. Eric turned and ran knowing he did not stand a snowballs chance against an unknown number of undead, finding stairs Eric began to descend floor by floor at times going by unseen and other times barely dodging attacks. Upon finally reaching the city streets Eric dashed towards the nearest entrance to the underground waterways and descended out of sight, the only stench underground was of sewage and stale air. Feeling safe for now Eric leaned against the wall as everything that had happened suddenly hit him, finally noticing the blood running down the side of his face from a wound he must have received from the crash and the echoing screams of the men in his head. Nearly an hour passed and Eric finally pulled himself together and began his long journey through the water ways, it would only be two days before Eric got to the closest town that was free of undead. Although it was a shady town he was able to get medical treatment and make his way back to that small house in the woods.
