  Build:

  Nicolae is not particularly muscular, but he isn't scrawny either; the alpaca simply has a naturally lanky frame and tends to look oddly emaciated in the torso, a trait emphasized by being long-limbed and narrow. However, he exercises enough to build up acceptable muscle tone and strong limbs - think the build of an athletic swimmer. It is simply the build of someone who has spent most of their life traveling and performing lower class labor. You do not spend long hours digging graves and not build up tone - his arms, shoulders, abdominal area, chest, and back are more than adequately functional for strong blows with a weapon.
  
  A good sprinter and jumper, he is quite light on his feet with powerful leg muscles and moves surprisingly quickly on two padded toes with thick, broad nails ( camelid do not have hooves ) meant for steep terrain. His hands are five-fingered (the fingers are roughly all of the same length with large knuckles) with padded tips (dark brown) and thick nails (black) - they are more like that of a dog than an equine mammal, as are his feet, albeit lacking palm pads. His fluffy tail is short, low set, and subject to ridiculous bouts of movement.

  A coat described as "soot and rust", his fur is a brownish-black brightening to a brownish sort of orange towards the end of fibers. His legs, arms, and face are mostly solid black with splotches of color and his skin is pale cream and brown. The only rust coloring on his face is from the front of his nose to the bottom of his eyes in a stripe as well as splashed haphazardly on one ragged ear. His pierced and tattered ears are most frequently set back. Nicolae lacks fur around the rim of his eyes, nose, and lips and it is thinnest on his face, hands and feet.
  
  Nicolae has what is called "suri" fur, meaning that the fiber grows parallel to the body and hangs down in long separated locks ( sort of like thin dreadlocks ) that are not crimped like "normal" alpaca fur. Fine and dense with excellent insulation and waterproof properties, this type of fur is known for having a high luster and extreme softness. While Nicolae keeps his fur short, it grows back quickly, giving him a sustainable outlet for profit when he decides to sell what he removes to weavers at roughly six to thirteen pounds of fur grown yearly. He has longer tufts of hair hanging from the back of his legs and the underside of his arms.

  While normally wavy with a slight curl, it's largely grown into natural "fairy-locks" - matted ropes bedecked with beads and ribbon, occasionally pulled back from his eyes with wide bandanna and/or tied up. There are flickers of sickly iridescent colors hiding in the shadows, glimmers of tiny little sharp-toothed faeries that make their home on his person.

  A pale violet - big and oval, with splotchy irises and horizontal rectangular pupils. They're framed with wide and feathery eyelashes.

  They're also apparently nocturnal, showcasing tapetum lucidum which shine an unnatural purple in the dark.

  Personality:

  Glib, Superficial, Self-Serving, Lecherous, Sleazy, Lazy, Emotionally Apathetic, Carnal, Impulsive, Greedy, Curious, Manipulative, Immature, Melodramatic, Cowardly

  Habits and Mannerisms:

  It's really hard to tell if this drawling street scum takes anything seriously. Nicolae comes across as charming and witty, very much the oddball gentleman, but with a glib and somewhat shallow range of emotions. He is manipulative and cowardly, painfully sarcastic, and rather secretive. A childish prankster and nonconformist egocentric who too easily becomes bored, Nicolae cannot help but keep an eye out for excitement – this frequently lands him in the company of trouble, but his need for stimulation and a healthy sense of curiosity always keeps him coming back for more.

  Scent:

  Nicolae smells strongly of mint and rich soil - faintly underlying this is a musk and a light scent of various herbal substances and faerie dust. It's almost sickly sweet at times. Nicolae is often seen smoking out of his pipe or chewing mint leaves.

  Speech Patterns and Voice:

  Nicolae's voice is a suave tenor - low, deep, steady, and slightly gravelly with just a tinge of a thick, deep-throated dialect long been out of use. His singing voice is quite rich and strong - often Nicolae can be heard in ballad song if not at least humming a tune.

  Physical Features

  
  A greasy and sleazy alpaca of soot and rust, eerie violet eyes often hidden behind hair; the thick clumps of his fur formed long dreadlocks hanging to mid-back, decorated with thread and beads, rusty ropes haphazardly managed with brightly colored strips of cloth and a purple bandanna - the curtain of tangled vines occasionally betrayed small fae flickering in sickly iridescent tones. A wavy goatee made a ridge from the end of his chin all the way down his neck, long tufts along his jaw mimicking sideburns. There was nothing remarkable about the muted tones of his worn attire; sleeveless coat over canvas tunic, tied breeches, a scraggly sash of many colors wound through his belt. In his narrow ears were many tarnished rings of various metals, around his wrist bracelets and neck strings of glass and wooden beads, the soft clicks and clatters of their contact signaling his presence.
  
  

  Scars: It's hard to tell under all the fur - none are readily apparent. Teeth Alpaca have three sets of large and extremely sharp almost-carnivorous fighting teeth - two sets on the top and one on the bottom. Nicolae, however, seems to have extra "fighting teeth" on both upper and lower jaw in addition to normal lower incisors and grinding molars. This makes his teeth an oddity as he has an herbivore jaw structure and backwards-pointing carnivorous canines. These multiple "fighting teeth" seem semi-carnivorous and meant for a meat-eating shredder-scavenger.

  Body Modifications: Nicolae has a great many piercings along his ears - his nipples are also pierced, if not often seen. ... ...you really want to know where the other rings are? I think you might already know.

  
  Your basic alpaca is a leggy camelid with a long neck, highly expressive and straight triangular ears (spear-shaped rather than banana-shaped), big oval eyes with long eyelashes, a narrow head with a wedge-shaped muzzle, v-shaped slit nostrils, and a mobile, split upper-lip. Nicolae adheres to all of these generalized qualities. The main exceptions are that of his teeth, the fangs of which are larger and sharper than they should be, and the fact that the interior of his mouth is black and his tongue is semi-prehensile and more like that of a giraffe.
  
  

  Alpaca vs Llama

  Alpaca are roughly half the size of their cousin, the llama. While the llama was bred to be a working animal, the alpaca was bred for fiber production. The two share many similarities, but the most important differences to note here are their ears and facial features.
  
  The llama has large, banana-shaped ears that curve inwards, which the alpaca has shorter and more triangular ears. The tail is also different - the tail of the llama comes off the end of a straight back and curves in the air. The tail of the alpaca is lower set and hangs! 
  
  The face of the alpaca is slightly shorter and their muzzle rounder with heavy fur extending to the bridge of their noses - they have something of an afro and thick ruff that llama lack. They also have a larger brain case with a rounder dome, which gives them a bit more of soft curve between their eyes - the llama has a much straighter and boxier muzzle in comparison. The llama is basically longer and straighter in build than the alpaca in every way and alpaca are rounder.

  
  

  Attire

  
  Nicolae is dressed in various tattered garb depending on the day - laced tunics, patchwork shirts, the occasional buckled jerkin - usually a heavily ringed belt tied up with bright sash, with a ragged duster or long vest thrown over; typical attire also includes fingerless wool gloves and black breeches tied at the knee with lace-up sides. An assortment of junk on his person, a side satchel, a person of too many odd necklaces, bracelets, and things lining the inside of his coat.
