  • House Vashenko

    Though long lost to the hands of time, the vampires of House Vashenko were once known for being tall beings, who displayed prominent traits of albinism throughout their line. Their blood was notably dark, to the point where it appeared almost black when spilled upon parchment, and provided unfathomable succour when consumed by another vampire. The late Master of House Vashenko was particularly cruel, and pressed his subjects beneath iron law. It was this prolonged treatment that ultimately led to their downfall; a massacre, conducted by the hands of masses. Even the old Master could not have foreseen such an attack. The only survivor was Uriel; the frail daughter of the Master and his betrothed. She was still terribly young, frightened, and very much near death. She was recovered and surrendered to the High Council, who raised the sickly creature with the intentions of preserving the gifts of her lineage in the future.




    Hereditary Ability: Agony

    A rare gift of black blood, and a trait occasionally seen throughout the Vashenko line. Through eye contact, Uriel is able to inflict immense pain upon a victim. The pain stems from the entirety of the body's muscles seizing at once, rendering the person to their knees and often resulting in broken bones and internal bleeding during extreme episodes. The levels of pain depend entirely on her will, and can manifest in the form of a small tingle in the arm to the crushing of the chest. The old Master would often use this as a means of punishing insubordination, or to force a person into bowing before him. Uriel is able to use this ability at will, with little to no cost whatsoever. The effect ends when her line of sight is broken.

  • Hereditary Ability: Empathy

    Uriel's mother was a true empath -- a trait inherited at a much milder, yet still very potent level. Through physical touch, Uriel is able to sense another's emotions, and is often able to comprehend the thoughts that fuel them. Teetering somewhere between mind reading and true empathy, those with strong wills are often able to shut Uriel's interferences out. In understanding another's complex emotions, she claims that she is able to partly judge another's character and potential.




    Vampiric Ability: Enthralment

    Those of Vashenko blood are only able to pass down their traits via natural reproduction. Those who are simply bitten by Uriel or her brethren become thralls, following a painful transformation process spanning over three or four days. Thralls are bound psychologically to their master, and will die with them should an incident arise. Thralls can be freed of their service by drinking even the slightest drop of their master's blood -- granting them independence and immortality as a true vampire.




    Vampiric Ability: Dissipation

    Uriel is able to reduce her physical form to a thin mist, effective in self defense though only used as a last resort. She can only assume this state for a minute or so at most, and doing so takes a large toll on her body, leaving her incredibly lethargic for a considerable amount of time afterwards. The mist is able to slip through small gaps and cracks, but is unable to escape a completely sealed room.




    Weakness: Sun

    Whilst her ancestors were able to stunt their weakness to the sun by ensuring they were kept well-fed, the same cannot be said for Uriel, whose delicate flesh burns in sunlight regardless. Whilst able to emerge in daytime, direct sunlight will cause her skin to blister and peel, and ultimately inflict terrible amounts of discomfort.




    Weakness: Frailness

    Uriel's weak condition means that she does not display a number of common vampiric traits such as enhanced speed and strength. This is due to the experimental pairing of her forebears, whose genes did not mix well despite them both hailing from prized bloodlines. However, whilst ultimately weak, she bears a formidable psyche and should not be underestimated.
