L I F Ex I T S E L F WILD AND FREE, WONDERFULLY CHAOTIC: A PERFECTLY PUT TOGETHER MESS Fawn Leonore Davenport was a mistake in more than one sense. She was the secondborn girlchild of Maude and Tristan Davenport, who supposedly never meant to have more than one. How could they possibly want another baby, when her older sister, Dove, was angelic and obscenely perfect as she was; gentle, neat, charming. With her parents both leading busy lives, working a lawyer and an accountant respectively, having a child who barely needed to be raised was a gift sent from the heavens. But things took a serious turn when Fawn came along and turned out to be nothing like her sister. She was as loud and stubborn and messy as Dove was kind, and the once wholesome, polished household suddenly shifted in balance in order to make room for everyone. Daycare proved difficult for young Fawn, whom either brought the world crashing down upon her in a tornado of mess or simply drifted away into her own thoughts stayed unreachable for hours on end. It was frowned upon by the staff, and the other children followed suit not long after, marking her as strange and refusing to play with her. Fawn didn't seem to mind the absence of friendships at all, which worried her parents further. In fact, regardless of barely ever speaking to others, she always seemed to know what they were thinking anyways. Her mother shrugged it off as her daughter being unusually observant, which, no doubt, she was, yet soon after it became clear, that there was more to Fawns character than what met the eye. Strange occurances seemed to follow their youngest daughter wherever she went, and at a certain point her parents ran out of excuses as to why things would mysteriously malfunction at Fawn's touch or her toys seemed to levitate in the air for brief amounts of time before returning to the teaparty. Tristan and Maude were deadly afraid, that if they took her to a doctor, they would declare her mentally ill and, in worst case, take her away. At this point her mother began suffering from severe anxiety attacks and often woke up in the middle of the night, panting, begging and screaming for phantom threats not to take her daughter away, and after a while she left her job in order to maintain her health and to keep an eye on Fawn. She might not have been as perfect as her sister, but she was indeed loved, and her parents were willing to go immense lengths to keep her safe. Their worlds were shook, however, when Fawn at the age of 11 received a letter with an invitation to study sorcery of all things at a certain Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Her father insisted that it must be a sick joke, and her mother simply went back to bed with yet another migraine, yet once again Fawn somehow seemed to know what was going on and begged her parents to let her go. At this point the situation at school had gone from the kids to stear clear of her to outright bullying, and like her mother, she was beginning to struggle keeping her head high and spirits up, staying home with a made up illness more days than not and generally keeping to herself, although this time it was as if she was starting to fade away. So her parents reluctantly agreed and took her to King's Cross, Platform 9 and 3/4 on September 1'st and were baffled to discover that nothing about the letter had been fake or a lie, and so there was nothing else for them to do than to let her leave with the red train, only to have her come back a witch.
"And if they thought her aimless, if they thought her a bit mad, let them.
It meant they left her alone. She was not aimless, anyway. She was thinking." ― Catherynne M. Valente To this day her parents are still struggling with the idea of their daughter possessing magical abilities, and generally they stick to speaking about it in encrypted terms only. As far as their neighbours are aware, Fawn is staying at an all-girls boarding school in Belgium, and only the immediate family, her parents, sister and grandmother, knows the entire truth. It is a lonely existence when she is visiting home during the summer and has to deny everything that she is, but her grandmother, after whom she has been named, has been an immense support to her and by far the most understanding and accepting of her family-members. Her struggles at home aside, Fawn thrived at Hogwarts, and still does to this day. She was sorted into Ravenclaw House (which she is; mind, body and soul), and after a brief, nasty experience, teaching her not to meddle with the pureblood-supremacists, she learnt to stick to her own kind and got a taste of true friendship; Kieran, Charlie and Essie have stuck by her side from the very beginning, and apart from her grandmother, they are the main recipients of her trust and the first ones she confides in, when she on rare occasion needs to talk. They are just about the only ones who know about her budding Legilimens-qualities, the ability to read minds, apart from Professor Dumbledore, who was the one to discover them in the first place. She has purposefully chosen not to cultivate them yet, as she in fact finds them a nuisance rather than a gift and often finds herself drifting from reality because of them. In the right time, however, she might put some work and effort into it and make good, purposeful use of it. At Hogwarts she met her first boyfriend, Cartier Kavanagh from Gryffindor, who took her by storm and the pair of them embarked on a heated, romantic journey, intensifying rather quickly, but cooled down equally fast (if not faster) after no more than a couple of months. She was madly in love, or at least in love with the idea of love, and too blinded by her feelings to see Cartier for what he really was, in spite of Charlie's tellings about him: A spineless monster, who turned his back on her immediately after things went south and made sure to spread his version of the story quicker than it took Fawn to even recall what had happened to her. What had been done. The healing is in slow progress, but she still feels like bolting for the nearest exit every time she crosses paths with Cartier in the school hallways, and has experienced a lot of anxiety ever since the incident at his family's lakehouse. |

|CHARMS|
A charm, also known as an enchantment, is a spell that adds certain properties to an object or individual. Charms are distinguished from transfigurations in that a charm adds or changes properties of an object; it focuses on altering what the object does as opposed to what the object is. For example, the Colour Change Charm causes something to flash different colours; the Levitation Charm causes an object to levitate, the Cheering Charm improves upon a creature's mood.
|TRANSFIGURATION|
Transfiguration is a branch of magic that focuses on the alteration of the form or appearance of an object, via the alteration of the object's molecular structure. Transfiguration can be done to most (if not all) objects and, as with most forms of magic, it includes - but is hardly limited to - Transfiguration spells.
|JINXES & CURSES|
A curse was a type of dark charm which was used for the worst kinds of dark magic. The most heinous of the three dark charms, curses came in many strengths and forms, but were usually reserved for causing immense suffering to the victim, such as excruciating pain, mind control, or even death.
|POTIONS|
Potions (Latin potio, 'beverage') are magical mixtures commonly brewed in cauldrons and used to create a number of magical effects on the drinker. Potions range in effects, nature, and brewing difficulty. An example of a beginners potion is the Cure for Boils, which is the first potion learned at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredibly advanced and challenging one is the Polyjuice Potion, that even adult Witches and Wizards have trouble with.
|APPARITION|
Apparition is a magical form of transportation, in which the user travels instantly from one location to another, without traversing the space in-between. This is accomplished by having the user focus on a desired location in their mind and then purposely disappearing from where they were, to reappear at the desired location. Apparition is by far the fastest way to get to a desired destination, but is tricky to pull off correctly and disastrous if botched. The ability to apparate was a relatively advanced skill for wizards. |
