Jensen Burke

Story

• History

  Jensen grew up on a ranch with his mother, who worked mainly as a milkmaid. He only knew his father for the first twelve years of his life, and has memories of him teaching Jensen how to ride a horse, but at some point he disappeared and never came back. Jen's mother insists that his father ran away to join a gang, and is very vocal about her distaste for him, but Jensen still looks up to him despite this.
  When he reached the age of sixteen, Jensen ran away from home to join a gang of his own. After a failed relationship and almost getting hung for his crimes, he left the gang, and never talks about his experiences ever since.
  Now he generally serves as a bounty hunter, but is forced to stay low from the law since there is still a significant bounty over his own head. Jen uses the pseudonym "Nico Brown" in public, and is careful to make sure nobody knows his real name lest they hand him in to the authorities.

• Family History

  Jen's mother was called Irene Burke, and originated from Ireland. She has lived in America for almost her whole life and gave birth to Jensen whilst working on Valerian Ranch. His father, Robert Buell, had previously been working on the same ranch until - following a difficult relationship with Irene - he disappeared to supposedly join a gang. They have never seen him since.
  Jen decided to leave the ranch when he grew tired of the lifestyle. He left a note for his mother to let her know that he'd come back one day, and she is still waiting for him, checking newspapers and town billboards for any information on his whereabouts.

• Relationship habits

  Jensen is extremely noncommittal ever since his experiences with his gang, and seems to go out of his way to avoid growing close to anyone. Despite this, he is also extremely loyal, and with the right encouragement he is perfectly capable of settling down and giving up his violent ways for good.
  He doesn't necessarily enjoy being an outlaw, and sometimes wishes he could have chosen a different route in life. Any opportunity to escape would certainly tempt Jensen, but with the fear of getting anyone he loves hurt because of his lifestyle, he would likely avoid anything permanent unless his partner or friend had a similar situation to himself.
  As a bisexual male in 1890's America, Jen actually finds it very easy to get away with flirting with men as most male closeness is passed off as being friendly rather than effeminate or homosexual. He also generally prefers finding male partners as there is a lower chance of committing to a proper, stable relationship.
