  • Description

    The Matriarch of Clan DeSeer, Roan is not that special at first glance.
    A woman of average height, the initial feature most note is the red of her hair, far darker than the average ginger color, and apparently natural.

    Further inspection of the Lady, however, reveals far more noteworthy features to her.
    She is not beautiful.
    Blessed of extremely pale skin, a refined face and high cheekbones, she is nevertheless best described as 'striking', not least of which because of the scars that marr her features. The most obvious of these when she is clothed is a prominent series of gashes over her left eye and another across her nose. Despite this, Roan still has full use of both of her eyes, each colored a piercing blue.

    Further scars marr much of her body, though she keeps most hidden with careful choices in clothing. Surprisingly, her arms are not much pitted and notable mostly for her tattoos, one either upper arm. One is an older clan symbol, while the other is the bloodline symbol for Clan Brujah - an inverted anarchy sign.
    She does have two more 'tattoos' on the tops of her shoulders where they join her neck. These are a pair of snakes, eating their own tails, one in black and one in red, but these are not often on display.

    Roan favors red clothing that facilitates movement, due to her lifestyle. She tends towards comfortable pants, black sleeveless t-shirts and red top she wears over this. Boots are nigh always the footwear of the day. She can often be seen in mismatched gloves, and always with her multiple belts at her waist and holsters. While guns form the most common feature of her arsenal, she has been known on occasion to sport a fencers belt, with a very fine silver-blue rapier ready to hand.

    Finally, Roan prefers silver jewelry in her ears and on her hands and also wears a set of dog tags, the wording on which is usually obscured.

  • Brutus

    Also of note regarding the Matriarch is the hound sometimes seen at her side, or operating on his own away from her. Named for his muscular stature, Brutus is a notable character in his own right.

    Brutus is often called and mistaken for a Hellhound. This is not the truth, however, and reality is perhaps more horrifying than a mere hound from the hells would be.
    Brutus is instead an Obtenebration Construct (shadow form made 'flesh'). His body is held corporeal by the complex seal carved into his belly, a seal which also binds his sentience to the form. The sentience itself comes from the mental remains of someone Roan Diablerized (consumed down to the soul) in her past.
    Brutus was not his original name. A hound was not his original form. Much of who he once was is gone... but what is left has earned enough trust and accepted his current state enough for Roan to allow him to act as an extension of herself, in his own body.

    For all practical purposes, Brutus is what he seems - a canine scout for the Lady, and capable of joining her in battle. He has heavy claws, a very powerful bite force, the mass to slam people to the ground if he jumps... and some control of his own shadows and form if the situation warrants it. He can also shadowstep, which is how he gets around. He may only Step to places Roan knows, however.


    Finally, there are rumors Brutus may have/had a brother. Sources say he was possibly named Bub. He has not been seen in the Realms, however.
