➤Julmangil is a fire wyvern, a sub-species of dragon that have two wings and two legs, the wings functioning as forelimbs when on the ground. Being a fire wyvern, he has a hollow sack in his chest that acts as both a flight balloon and as a store for his most deadly weapon: fire. A fire wyvern naturally produces gases through an unknown chemical process in their bodies, which then collects in their fire sacks, swelling into a constant flame that warms their bodies and with which they may produce the classical fire breath. However, if a wyvern expels too much of this gaseous mixture, it will become unable to produce the fire any longer or be able to take flight, seeing as their bones are not hollow, which makes flight impossible without aid. This can be very dangerous for a wyvern: if they are unable to defend themselves with fire or run away by flying, they may become prey to other wyverns or skilled dragon slayers. Additionally, without the heated gasses inside of them, their temperature may drop too low and they could die from the cold. However, a wyvern that continually uses their flames and flies for long periods of time may build the constitution of their flame sack and cause it to be more efficient, becoming able to breath more fire with less penalties. This is accomplished over many years of building their body's strength.

Due to being mostly animal, when a wyvern searches for a mate, there is no love involved. They simply seek to reproduce and physical love is practically nonexistent to the species. Instead, wyverns are known to form bonds between siblings or unknown dragons as more of a companionship, holding territories together and defending each other as if they were mates. While it is less common for this to occur, it has been recorded and the bond formed is permanent, unlike a mating bond. This ensures that a lone dragon is not picked off by dragon slayers; they form a team without the complication of mating rituals or breeding requirements.

When a wyvern hatches, the only parent they see is their mother and can grow very quickly, reaching adult sizes in just under a year. Female wyverns are highly aggressive and are known to kill their mates after they breed so males often leave long before eggs hatch. A normal clutch consists of two to eight eggs, each requiring a constant high temperature to incubate. A hatchling will learn quickly that fire is their most important life source and will form small bonds with their family members, especially their mothers. This bond may be severed after the dragon reaches an adolescent age when they leave the nest, or may continue to grow as the wyvern remains in the territory to protect and live alongside their mother and siblings until a new clutch is born. While it is usually unlikely, a wyvern may return to its birthplace for companionship with siblings or their mother, even after they're grown, but most simply find another unknown wyvern to bond with permanently.

👑Biography:

➤When Julmangil hatched, it was alongside three other tiny bodies, their small teeth and high pitched voices crying out for their mother. His tired and poorly functioning eyes found the large dragoness that cared for them. She breathed his name into his soul and he became Julmangil, the fire wyvern. His gleaming black scales and sparkling eggshell attracted unwanted attention however, and it was soon that humans came, murdering his family and taking him far away, a scrabbling ball of claws and fangs. His first real memories, besides that of his mother's voice, were the great halls of a sprawling castle and a young man with greedy eyes and a sordid expression. He was handed off, only the size of a puppy, to the teenager, a prize no doubt. Thereafter, his soul was bound to the human, magic keeping him compliant and obedient to his new master, who Julmangil learned some years after was the heir to the throne. The boy gave the wyvern a new name: Aaron. It was so unsophisticated, lacking in the power his true name evoked but something deep inside the tiny beast told him never to reveal his true name, that the man before him would take advantage of it.

The newly christened Aaron was forced to grow inside the fortress, learn how to use a human form and was expected to maintain it. Soon enough, he was more comfortable in the human form than his dragon, much to the chagrin of his true nature. He was taught the English language, his natural understanding of the dragon tongue supplemented through historical texts he found throughout the castle. He became an avid reader, pouring over tomes, texts, and scrolls, his curiosity blossoming as a young wyvern. When he grew too old to be a simple house pet, his master Prince Tylon, had another wing of the castle built, accommodating his potential adult size and with a large opening that he could use to take flight from. When he was ten months old, he was called an adult by the magistrates of the castle and his battle training began. At first he was not aggressive, cowering and huffing as the dragon tamers cracked their whips at him, but the more pain they applied, the angrier he became. After many years, the young wyvern became a brawling lizard king, protecting the kingdom through many wars and attacks by other mythical beings, defending with tooth and nail. Yet, as the decades passed, he grew to despise the man who owned him, now king, and the jobs Julmangil was forced to do. He became lazy and listless, no longer caring for anything nor anyone, becoming blunt and cruel, participating in events if he was forced, but never leaving his room if he had the choice. He began collecting anything golden, adorning his body in beautiful piercings and cloth until he became more of an accessory than anything of substance to the king or kingdom. They used him when they wanted and he didn't have a choice about it.
