• Biography

  High Steward of Tiannash, Warlady of the Reborn, Shadow Lady of the Void Dragons and Crimson Queen of the Blade's Edge Reavers, Shadow Lady Faoiltarna stands as a powerful Eldar war-leader at the start of the forty first millennium. Hailing from the craftworld of Biel-Tan, Faoiltarna became an outcast Eldar out of dissent with the prevailing plan on that world for the rebirth of the Eldar Dominions of old, a cause she now champions beneath the banner of the newborn god Ynnead. Long considered strange and possibly mad, she stands vindicated with a growing following who have flocked to her banner in the aftermath of the worlds-shattering social upheaval that wracked the galaxy at the start of the new millennium.
  
  Child of Biel-Tan (317.M38 - 182.M39)
  Despite coming from a famously militant craftworld, Faoiltarna's previous paths prior to becoming an outcast were primarily philosophical and economic related with only a brief foray into warfare in the Striking Scorpion aspect and that of the Mariner aboard a Dragon Ship. She was much more familiar to her fellow eldar for her oft-published musings and reasoning on every aspect of the holy quest to rebuild the Eldar Dominion.
  Among the reasons for her eventual ostracism and departure from the Craftworld were her historical and philosophical treatises on the human species. She considered the human Great Crusade something of an inspiration in this regard, having published a monograph citing the resurgence of humans after the Age of Strife as an example of how the Eldar should proceed, claiming that the situation of humans in those days to be more wretched than that of the Eldar after the Fall, a claim which earned her intense social stigma, culminating in her decision to follow the path of the outcast.
  
  Wanderer Amidst Mankind (182.M39 - 399.M40)
  Faoil's first centuries as an outcast was marked by the typical lone wanderings of a 'Ranger' but in her case this frequently became a means to explore her fascination with human culture, frequently lingering in isolated human settlements in the guise of a human traveler, adopting appropriate costumes and manners, once even risking a journey aboard a human warp vessel. Faoil's travels spanned the galaxy from the hyper-technical world of Adrantis Five to a thousand feral worlds where mankind have even forgotten how to make fire and she associated with many humans, aiding some, harming others, exploring as many cultures as she could, living as everything from a tribal warrior on the feudal world of Mindon's mountains to honorary Hearth Sister of the League of Kapellar.

  Faoil's career as an corsair started rather small, when she began to discover that a lack of material goods hampered some of her searches and studies, she fell in with the Unsheathed Talon Cryptokrators, a group of infamous meme-thieves whose specialties were in taking the living thoughts from the minds of a client's enemies and dissecting them. She found the information to be gained in this manner to be useful, but resented the strictures of their strange lifestyle. Instead she defected to a roving mercenary band and then later to a warship's crew.
  
  Her rise to a command position was something that simply came with experience, for some years she led an alliance of the Ilbrith's Flame corsairs, with the Kabal of the Flensed Hand, but although this gave her an insight into the Dark Kin, she was never foolish enough to expect it to last, and betrayed them to the organized forces of the Uttu Sector Fleet, though she was obliged to form her own splinter fleet with the Gea's Lament. Her skill in cooperating with human renegades and other non-eldar and her pious vision attracted followers, and over the years she gained like-minded followers and eventually a fleet, dedicated first to their own profits, but second to the cause she espoused, of rebuilding the Dominion.
  
  She retained a fascination with humans and other races quite unlike most eldar, and found the business she engaged in allowed ample opportunities to loot their relics and occasionally take members of other species as slaves to amuse her or to learn from.
  
  Warlady of the Reborn, High Steward of Tiannash (000.M42 - Present)
  With the turn of the millennium, war more intense than any before ripped apart the galaxy, and Faoiltarna served with her fleet in providing logistical support to humans and others opposing the forces of Chaos, until the last weeks of the Thirteenth Black Crusade; when regrouping and licking their wounds from this campaign, news of the birth of the Eldar god of the Dead finally reached her.
  
  While the birth of Ynnead had ripped her homeworld apart, she viewed this entirely as a positive thing, the chance to rebuild the Aeldari Dominion of old. With the cooperation of many of the Void Dragons leaders, already inclined toward the Ynnari, she swiftly purged her fleet of elements not prepared to embrace the new religion, either transferring them to other fleets or exiling them from the fleet, while swiftly sending word to the leaders of the Reborn of her loyalty.
  
  She did not however, for the most part, join their early campaigns, instead she set into mind her own designs long cherished and considered, making for the unsettled Maiden World of Tiannash and establishing it as a safe-haven for the Ynnari. With the intention of making the world a lynchpin for expansion, she called in the favours and resources secreted against the day of the Eldar’s rebirth for millennia and set to work building cities and production centers, which soon swelled with refugees from the Dark City and indeed her own homeworld, as well as other scatted Aeldari Kindreds.
  
  As this work progressed during the first months of the Noctis Aeterna, she has also moved on to launching expeditions into the wider part of the Imperium Nihilus, that part of the galaxy where the Imperium of Man is de-facto nonexistant. With human worlds entirely cut off from assistance, the galaxy being no longer navigable for them in many areas, she has gathered allies and begun a new process, visiting human worlds with gifts of supplies, a bargain which many may yet regret, as while the first gift is indeed free, others are less so; and where her Great Trade Expedition travels, those who do not enter into trade agreements with the Tiannashi swiftly find that the same ships that can still transport food-concentrates and industrial products can also transport growing armies of mercenaries and Aeldari war-hosts, assassins and rabble-rousers. To the dedicated pirate, a galaxy without large scale governance is a feeding ground, though one that does still have other sharks to be wary of.
  
  In keeping with her belief that a new spring for the Aeldari is heralded by these events, she has also made the momentous decision to have children, her first since she left her craftworld home millennia ago, impregnating her concubine with forbidden transgenic science and spirit-blending, and in keeping with the fedundity and prosperity that she has been blessed with, she was surprised and delighted to discover her paramour pregnant with twin daughters.
