IDENTITY IN FLUX

His name rolls off a Welsh tongue. It's pronounced mur-thn, which is needlessly confusing, so fuck it. Call him Myr. Or Merle, or Marlon, or Marvin, as half of River Bay's mundane residents do. He always says "no relation" when introducing himself by his wizard-ass name, but nobody gets the joke because they're not four hundred years old. His accent faded centuries ago. He's been a lot of different people over the years.

Tall, rakish, and fashion-conscious, albeit alternative. He's known to resurrect ancient clothing trends just to keep 'em guessing. Looks like a goth warlock in the streets but dons a suit and tie when he needs to hoodwink magical artifacts out of mundane antique dealers. Oilslick hair, dark eyes, rings on every finger, heavily inked, and perpetually chipped black nail polish. In the middle of nowhere Oregon he's hard to miss.



CORVUS CORONE ✦ CARRION CROW

Discentum Corvidae, or Learning Ravens, are a type of obscure magical entity known for their fascination with knowledge and history. Their inclinations towards trickery and lying makes it impossible to tell their true origins. Most don't realize they exist at all. Myrrdin doesn't make it known he's an ex-familiar, since it begets the question what happened, and no, he doesn't want to talk about it, thanks very much. He's content being misidentified by other supernaturals as a witch or shapeshifter.

Corvidae have astounding memories. It's a double-edged sword. While Myrrdin can recite every Elizabethan play ever written (an indispensable skill), he's also taken to knocking himself out with sleeping pills to keep the plague of 1665 nightmares at bay. During migration season he sometimes wakes up in a cold sweat with the absolute need to go to Florida, and the madman will do it if nobody intervenes.

Myrrdin's glamour slips when he's sleeping, alone, or very comfortable around someone. As odd as it looks, noticing patches of feathers, nictitating eye membranes, or elongated/darkened nails is a compliment-- he trusts you. Or he's trying to scare the shit out of you. Situational context required.






ORGANIZED CHAOS
{35 NORTH STREET}

Myrrdin lives in a cramped apartment above his shop. His living space is extremely cluttered, packed with things that he hoarded or stole. The mess doesn't bother him. He gets cross if anyone tells him he should tidy up.

The chaos is also internal. Myrrdin is the detached opportunism of a scavenger combined with the human empathy foisted upon him by a witch. A moody, neurotic, and anxious creature. He has an addictive personality. Spacey, but intensely focused once something has captured his attention. He knows other liars and thieves when he sees them and is an excellent character judge. If he likes you he'll invite you in for tea where you'll be treated to 45 minutes of unrelenting eye contact and a graphic story about some beheading he went to in 1672. Despite his eccentricities, Myrrdin has a protective streak a mile wide. He fills the void of his dearly departed witch by acting as a familiar for anyone he's taken under his wing.
