History:
Originally born in Mexico in the year 1940, Marisol and her family moved to the United States when she was barely more than a toddler. Between the discrimination she faced as a Latina (to the point her white teachers insisted on calling her “Mary” instead of her true name) and the systemic sexism that constantly told Marisol what her life was going to be, rage and defiance came to define young Marisol. She was loud and angry, and made no secret of her feminism when she learned of the movement. It should come as no surprise then, that she found a comfortable place in activism in the 1960’s, an almost perfect place for a woman of color in her twenties. She was a vehement protester of the Vietnam War, her apartment littered with signs she had made herself, papers she had written, purple bruises and scrapes strewn across her skin from scuffles. Unyielding and unafraid, Marisol was hindered only by her temper, which caused her throw her fair share of punches. Not exactly the epitome of the “peace, love, and happiness” mantra of the hippies with which she associated.

When the Brujah sought her out, Marisol could not resist the offer of spending eternity as an agent of change. She knew all too well that she would not see the cultural shifts she strove to create in her mortal lifetime. She accepted on the spot, and so her un-life began.
While still a participant and organizer of activism, Marisol’s methods have somewhat changed and adapted with the times. After all, what is changing the world for the greater good if you are not constantly learning how to do it better? Marisol works upon the philosophy that the anger so common in the Brujah stems from passion and a knowledge that the world can be better, should be better. As such, Marisol embraces her passionate nature, never feeling anything halfway whether it be anger or joy. She also believes that to be openly and apologetically one’s self in the face of adversity is as much activism as marching in the streets. A sentiment she has made an effort to incorporate into her club, the Asp Hole. Marisol strives to make her place a little utopia amidst a world of unacceptance. As such, the Asp Hole has become popular among the misfits and marginalized, the LGBT+ community, disabled, people of color, etc. Human, vampire, or even werewolf, all are welcome so long as they don’t cause trouble or get on Marisol’s bad side.

Marisol is hardly the type of owner to sit back and just let everyone else enjoy the party. She mingles and interacts with her patrons, looking out for them as carefully as she can, and even occasionally performs onstage. Ever hands on, she is close with her employees and has an open-door policy. As such, Marisol has earned quite the glowing reputation in her part of town and in the various marginalized communities. Though everyone has ample warning never to piss her off lest they get punch to the other side of the street.
