Visia Sadei

Kitsune are innately magical creatures. These powers typically grow as the creature ages. While the spirit inhabiting Visia's body is considerably ancient, her mortal body is not able to contain or manipulate the full breadth of the spirit's powers. However that does not leave her without several fox magics of her own.


Kitsubi
Kitsune are capable of conjuring ghostly fire. This takes the shape of floating sphere of violet flame, similar to that of a will o' wisp. The fire does not generate any heat but does shed gentle light around it, roughly equivalent to a torch. More powerful kitsune are capable of conjuring stronger forms of Kitsubi capable of bewitching those who view them into a trace, beckoning to be followed.


Fox Glamour
Kitsune are innate shapeshifters and illusionists. The applications of this glamour are quite varied, though Visia's limited access to her fox-nature leave her with limited application to this ability. Visia is capable of altering the appearance of her physical body to any onlooker. Currently this ability is limited to the ability of hiding her fox-like features from view (though they still physically exist) and hiding blemishes and scars.


Fox Shape
Kitsune are capable of taking a purely fox-like form. Visia's fox-form is of a pure white fox with five-tails.

Visia's fox spirit is a being of Ka, or Fire in the common tongue. Being attuned to an element of the Godai (the great five) defines both her personality as well as her abilities. Ka not only represents the flame, but it representatives the energetic, forceful concepts of the very world in the Godai. Beings in tune with this element have strong force of will, motivation, passion, and affinity with animals.


Forge's Flame
The caster of this spell summons the very fire used to forge their weapon, coaxing the lesser spirit of their arms to remember it's very creation. The weapon ignites in fire in response, wreathed in a corona of blazing heat and flame. This flame is incapable of harming the wielder, and if the weapon is sheathed or released then the enchantment ends.

This spell can be used aggressively on a foe's weapon, presuming fire was used in it's creation. This form of the spell costs additional preps and the caster must somehow make contact with the weapon. The blazing heat of the weapon will make it nearly impossible for an unprotected creature to continue wielding the weapon in question.


Fire-and-Anvil Strike
Every blade can recall it's own forging, and this spell summons forth that memory. The caster communes with the lesser spirit of a metal weapon, reminding it of the day it was forged. The weapon glows a cherry red for a few moments as the caster prepares the magic, then the weapon is returned to normal. The next time the weapon strikes or is stuck by another object, the weapon sings with the sound of a hammer striking steel, launching a flurry of blinding sparks into the eyes of the person foolish enough to clash with the caster


Seed of Suzaku
The caster takes a small, combustible object (such as an acorn or a pinecone) and focuses on it, circulating their breath. Quietly the caster wills a lesser spirit of ka into being within their own body and brings the object to their mouth, breathing the spirit into the object. Up to a minute later, once the spirit is fully matured, it bursts out of the object in the form of an explosive blast.


Finger of Amatarasu
As every being of Ka knows, the greatest source of all Fire is the great sun overhead. The throne of Amatarasu, the Okami of the Sum, in it's great burning glory. While far away in the heavens above, it's presence still brings with it the life and warmth of Ka to those below. With this spell, the caster influences the rays of Amatarasu's throne, magnifying them. A super-heated ray from the star shines down on a point the caster designates, burning anything exposed as if consumed by a bonfire. Flammable materials will come alight under the influence of this spell. The caster may spend additional preps to turn up the heat, or increase the effected area.

This spell can only be used during the day, and only areas exposed to the Sun.


Roaring Furnace Meditation
This magical trick allows themselves to manipulate their very metabolism, either stoking or suffocating the fires that fuel their own body. Reducing one's metabolic rate can significantly reduce the user's need for for food and water. It can also lower heart rate, respiration, and even aging if used sufficiently. However a slower metabolic rate will result in easy fatigue and slowed healing from injury.

Increasing one's metabolism can have the reverse effect. A heighten metabolic rate can give incredible boosts of energy, vitality, and recovery from sickness and harm at the cost of a heightened need for sustenance. Pushing this ability too far in either extreme can cause severe stress on the body, especially on the heart.

Kagu-tsuchi was the great Kami of Fire. It is this being's life that gave shape to the great nation of Nippon. To this day, the spirits of Ka continue to practice this martial art in his honor, fueling their flames with these five techniques.


Kata of Flames
Less an individual technique and more a state of being, the martial artist takes on the essence of Ka and adopts a violent, aggressive stance. The martial artist's skin becomes flushed as their heart chakra becomes active, increasing blood flow circulation through the body. This brings an enhanced sense of the surroundings to the martial artist, along with fresh strength and vigor to the body. The magical force flowing through them also renders them immune to mundane flames, and an increased resilience to pure fire wrought by magic.

Prolonged use of this kata puts incredible strain on the heart and circulatory system. Symptoms will gradually progress through lightheadedness, shortness of breath, heart palpitations, arrhythmia, the rupture of blood vessels and veins in the body, and cardiac arrest.


Birth of a Fire God
When Kagu-tsuchi was born, he brought with him a great fire that burned his mother, Izanami, and brought about her ruin. The martial artist recalls the rising of the God of Ka and infuses themselves with a great inferno for a few moments. The caster's body and the air immediately about them become burning hot, enough to ignite materials of average flammability. Fur and hair will burn, flesh will blister and crack. The caster's equipment is unharmed by this sudden surge of temperature. This wave of heat only lasts a few seconds before fading away.


Izanagi's Quenching
In his grief at his wife's death, Izanagi decapitated his son and quelled the fire he had brought into the world. He then cut the fledgling deity into eight pieces, scattering him across the ocean where he became the eight volcanoes that birthed Nippon. A martial artist dedicated to the art of Ka must know when to quell a fire as well as stoke it. Taking a blade, the martial artist thrusts the weapon into a source of flames and absorbs it into the metal. The martial artist then may either quench the fire permanently or redirect it as a stream of fire, roughly equivalent to the fire absorbed. This technique can be used to redirect fire magics elsewhere.


Eight Flames Path
Kagu-tsuchi's being was split between eight great, fiery mountains. Their roots dive deep into the earth, collecting in it's core and the source of the great fire the kami once was. As such, the kami exists in all fires at once, moving through them freely. So too can the martial artist of this technique. Focusing their ki, they can merge themselves with a body of flame, exiting back out another fire a set distance away depending on the number of preps spent to prepare the firewalk.


Kagu-tsuchi's Rage
Kagu-tsuchi never forgot the pain of his death or the betrayal of his father. Though he slumbers below Nippon, his dreams are troubled by fits and starts, and his fury rises from below in great bursts of molten earth. The martial artist reaches into the ground and pulls a lesser spirit of ka to the surface, stoking it's fire and exciting it. When the ground the caster has activated is next disturbed, or at the caster's signal, the spirit bursts forward as a fountain of flaming earth upon all near the casting spot.

Visia is a reincarnated Kenshi, or Sword Saint. Her skills with a sword stretch into the supernatural, above that of the average fighter. As a result she has several techniques that she has developed through the years by intermixing her ki, magic, and natural talents with the blade.


Loyalty of Steel
Less an individual technique and more of a ritual. This ritual is a bonding process that takes an entire month, in which the martial artist must spend at least four hours a day training and meditating with their chosen weapon. Once this period is completed, the weapon in question is a valid choice for the rest of the abilities listed in this sub-section. A martial artist can only bound with one weapon in this way, and even beginning the bonding process with another weapon offends the lesser god of the previous weapon to the point of never being able to be bounded with again.

Call the Blade
By uttering the name of the lesser god of the martial artist's chosen weapon, it rushes to the hand of it's master. As long as the weapon is within ten yards of the user, it will return with perfect accuracy. The weapon can navigate corners, but a solid barrier can block it's path.


Wind-Cutting Blade
An iaijutsu technique where the user makes a lightning fast draw with their sword, cutting the air and releasing their ki in an explosive movement. The resulting compressed cut of energy travels out from the user, slicing through whatever it contacts as if struck by the blade itself. It is important to recognize that this technique can't exceed the cutting power of the weapon being used.

This ability has a synergistic property, taking on flaming traits from a weapon affected by Forge's Flame or other elemental abilities granted by similar techniques or spells.


Whirlwind of Iron
A powerful iaijutsu technique, in which after a short meditative focus the martial artist performs a series of five incredibly fast attacks in a single, flowing movement. It is a technique designed to utterly overwhelm a foe's defenses, though static defenses such as western shields are considerably more effective against this type of attack, and it leaves the user very open for retaliation.


Heavenly Guardian Defense
The pinnacle of a martial artist's iaijutsu training. This is a reflexive technique that targets a single attack the martial artist is aware of. The artist's weapon must be sheathed to execute this move. With a single stroke, the martial artist completely defeats the incoming danger headed to the user. This technique immediately destroys the lesser god of the weapon, sacrificing it to protect it's master, and utterly destroys the weapon in the artist's hands.
