INDEPTH
Ingrid Yve Suren was born 800 years ago to her pureblood Royal vampire parents. After many years of attempting to have a child as only pureblood vampires can - vampires from the same line - they finally gave birth to Ingrid and her twin brother Sverre. Sverre was always seen as that who would take over the thrown, ruling over all vampires, whether they chose to willingly or be forcefully placed onto their knees in respect for their elders. Sverre and Ingrid stopped aging around the similar age of twenty four, and began their lives as true unaging immortals.
Ingrid - often known as Suren, was treated much differently than her brother. Often abused in many ways by their father. She was spoiled in similar manners but not allowed say in much of anything when it came to their rule so to speak - which isn't necessarily over a specific Kingdom, but over a people, spreading out in very specific districts that are 'governed by vampires that are put into power in those districts via the Queen Mothers orders.
Ingrid was betrothed to her own twin brother, as a common tradition with royals, though her parents were not siblings as humans, they wanted to ensure their children ended up the rulers, even if more concerned with Sverre becoming King than Ingrid becoming Queen. It was more of a means to keep anyone not in the family from getting into Sverre's head if he were to ever become King. Ingrid would be easier to control as Queen.
Unfortunately or perhaps fortunately 300 years ago Sverre and her father, were killed by someone in the 'rebel' group of vampires that despises the royals and wants to be treated with more respect and have traditionalist rule and values be looked at differently, changed, give them more room for living in what is now the modern world. Potentially 'coming out of the closet' as vampires.
Ingrid, is secretly part of this group. Has been since the death of her brother. She was secretly contacted those hundred years before and asked to be part of the group, to give them an inside scoop. She agreed but only if they killed her brother or her father - they did even more than that, of course. They killed both the King and the Prince. Leaving only the Queen - often simply called Mother, also refereed to as the 'Den Mother', and the Princess Ingrid.
Unforunately upon trying to join the group those years ago, her mother discovered and killed many of them. As punishment? Ingrid was buried alive. For twenty years. Starving, aching, in the dark all alone. When she was unburied, she was willing to do just about anything to be set free. Including listen to her mother whole heartily... It took many years for her to overcome to trauma that had been placed on her. To regain her personality, to no longer be terrified of what her mother might do if she stepped out of line again.
Though it still haunts her, she now refuses to let it happen ever again... refuses to let her mother wholly control her life. She has found a way in the last hundred years to be a part of the rebel group without drawing attention...slowly drawing members into the royal court, as guards, cooks, maids, and even in control of districts around the world, but especially in the United States.
Ingrid does not want to move quickly, jump when not prepared. Often finding herself in disagreement with the leader of the alliance, many think Ingrid should be their leader, but...she desires power over her mother over power over the group, so she willingly works alongside him. Aiding the group in getting what they want in small steps, by her own means.
Around the time that Sverre was killed, Ingrid became close to his thrall Maddox. Just close enough to feel bad for him for suffering Sverre's abuses. The same day that she was coffined for being a traitor, she turned Maddox so that he wouldn't need to be a thrall to a vampire again and could instead be a vampire himself.
When she woke, and saw him again after twenty years they had a bond that she still can't quite describe in the right words. Maddox was able to feel her terror, pain, fear, loneliness while she was undr ground, and he was the only person after she was let out who stayed with her, comforted her, and dealt with her while she was dealing with her trauma.
Over time they became closer, Suren loved him, though it has always been difficult for her to love, and to separate lust from it. Regardless she cared for him deeply but he did not agree with her becoming part of the rebellion again nor how she was treated. She begged him not to confront the leader of the rebellion but...he apparently did, and Ingrid never saw him again. She can't get an answer as to where he is, if he died. It's been years but sometimes she still finds herself wondering where he is. She had never loved anyone but him... wonders if she ever will.
