History

• Biography

  Growing up in a family of mercenaries, bodyguards, and general guns for hire, meant that young Orion had little to worry about when it came to protection. His father and mother were daemon hunters for hire, going around and keeping people safe, for a price that is. When he was old enough to use a sword his father began training him. His first sword was a katana. What started out as sloppy moves soon turned into more elegant and deadly moves. His mother trained him in firearms, how to break down guns, reload, and most importantly fire them. By the age of fourteen he was ready to come along on hunts.
  
  Years passed, he had claimed a few kills under his belt around the age of sixteen. Though his next mission would be his undoing in a sense. Hired to guard a weapon maker and his son, Orion was ready for it. Hopping into the truck that was used to transport people he met the weapon maker and his son in the back. The drive would take a few days, as they were going cross country. The son and Orion hit it off pretty well, with the son talking about Orion's sword. The son's name was Luka.
  
  As the days went on Luka and Orion grew closer. After a fight Luka would repair Orion's sword, even if it was only mildly damaged, and Orion would find himself standing close to Luka, guarding him when they were out walking around. Though with any job it had to come to an end, and it came when they reached their destination. The parting of Luka and Orion was a sad one for the two boys, but they did promise to meet each other again when they could.
  
  At age eighteen Orion lost his mother and father and was now head of the hunting business. During his first solo hunt Orion found himself outnumbered by daemons. He slowly made his way through the demons, getting a cut across his chest, several on his back and shoulders. When he was done blood was rushing out of him, his vision began to blur, but he made it to a local gas station before passing around. The last thing he heard were muffled cries for help.
  
  Orion woke up in a hospital, his body ached and he felt weaker than normal. When he tried to move his arm he felt someone grab it and lower it. Slowly looking out of the corner of his eye he saw someone he thought he met before. The man now had longer hair which curled at the end, bright eyes, and a grin that seemed to light up a room. Orion tried to speak but found his throat was dry and he was too weak to even do that. The man introduced himself as Luka, and that made Orion's heart beat a bit faster, how did he find him?
  
  Luka told Orion that he had been working as the hospital's repairman to make some money when not working on weapons, and he saw him get dragged in by the doctors. Orion smiled weakly and let out a low laugh, things seemed like they would get better now.
  
  Weeks past, Orion slowly recovered and was able to move again. Though when he asked about his weapon it turned out that the katana had been destroyed in battle, leaving it in shards. Orion closed his eyes and sighed, that was the last thing he had close to his parents, but he soon felt a hand on his shoulder. Luka took him outside and drove him to his workshop. Inside was a bunch of weapons, ranging from pistols to massive swords. Luka went over to a table and held out a new sword for Orion, something he had never seen before. It looked like a gun, but there was obviously a blade in it. Luka pressed a button and let the sword change from a gun to a sword. He handed it to Orion, telling him that this sword is named Enkindler, and it was made from his old sword.
  
  Orion trained with his new sword, getting used to the way it felt, moved, and changed between long range and short range, it was only a few weeks before he was able to use it like an extension of his own arm. He thanked Luka, but then confessed something for him. He had fallen for Luka in the time they got to know one another, he had fallen in love with him. The two shared a silent moment, one processing the information, the other nervously waiting for an answer, and the answer came in the form of a kiss.
  
  Years went by, and when Orion came home from a hunt he found Luka holding something in his hands. Asking him what it was, Luka opened the box and showed a silver ring. Orion looked at the ring with bewildered eyes, he did not think that this day would come. He could only nod before the two embraced.
  
  Though life has a way of changing on people, what was once calm seas can become a tidal wave. The life of a mercenary has never been an easy one, danger is always an inevitable fact. Orion just didn't think it would hit him where it hurt. Orion was hired to kill a daemon that was causing problems. This was supposed to be an easy kill, something he had done hundreds of times. Luka tagged along this time, wanting to see what his fiance did on a daily basis. Orion told him to stay back, only come out when it was safe, he would handle everything else. Luka did as he was told, staying inside the armored truck he drove while Orion went off on his motorcycle.
  
  The daemon wasn't hard to find, it was actually really easy. Orion was the first to attack, using his motorcycle to do a series of quick hit and runs to keep the daemon away from the public. He had grown cocky though, over doing himself and his bike. The engine of the bike began to sputter and pop as he drove around, he had not kept it up. As he felt the engine suddenly die on him, he soon felt the daemon ram into him. With a groan he got up, only to be hit again. He was knocked around by the monster, causing him to try and flee, but he stumbled more than he ran. Orion suddenly felt a searing pain course through his body, his right arm fell to the ground, still clasping his sword. He could still feel it though, but he could not move it.
  
  Orion looked at the monster, another swipe coming down which scratched him across his right eye. Yelling in pain he staggered back, his vision obscured by blood. He began to pant, he was going to die, he just knew he was going to die. Then all at once there was a bright light and the daemon fell over. The sound of a loud horn filled his throbbing head. He knew that horn, Luka had come to help him. He heard the hissing of the door as it opened and a figure stepping out. Orion was about to protest but then the truck was knocked to the side, Luka going with it.
  
  Orion heard more screams, more yells, and then the sound of gunfire. Looking over he could see more hunters coming, some of them grabbed him and dragged him to safety, he tried to tell them about Luka, about where he was, but he was so delirious that it didn't come out right, and then nothing.
  
  Waking up again Orion looked around and then saw where his right arm was. He touched the side of his face, feeling bandages concealing the hole where his eye once was. It all came back to him though, he remembered everything. He remembered Luka, the daemon, the hunters who saved him, and what happened. Guilt coursed through his heart like a storm, he could never forgive himself. The sword and ring Luka made for him were on the table, those two things were going to be the chains that constantly reminded him of his guilt.
  
  After being released from the hospital he found a man who worked with machines who was willing to help patch up his eye and arm, but it would take a while. Orion agreed, even giving a few tips as to what he wanted. In the meantime he practiced with his left arm. It was awkward fighting with his other arm, but he had to do it. Within a few months he had his new eye and arm.
  
  He finally retrieved what was left of his motorcycle, fixing it himself and slowly returned to hunting. But he didn't have the same passion about it, his fighting was now more reckless than it ever was, almost like he was wanting to die. He engaged without really knowing much about the target. He always won, got the reward and then left soon after. He pushed his body to the limits but never could seem to find that one daemon or monster that could kill him. And when people did finally get to see him they said there was a sadness in his eyes.
