🌟Abilities🌟
✰ Mixed Martial Arts: When her Father saw Raelynn had some control over The Wolf within, he made her undertake some Mixed Martial arts training on the side to prepare her for the road ahead. She is not the best fighter in the Sept but is able to hold her own against the better fighters for a bit. She has a unique style that mostly aims to keep her opponents off-balance and guessing, combining discipline with her wild nature. ✰ Animalistic Senses and Reflexes: This one is a no brainer. As a Garou, Raelynn’s senses and reflexes are better than the average human even when in Homid, and with smell being her best sense as within seconds she can tell who or who isn’t a human. She can spot movement from several yards away, can chuck a full-grown man across a room if she wanted to, and can outrun an Olympic runner. Thus she’s a being that is very hard to sneak up on or follow secretly. And all of these only improve the further Wolf she goes - with the strongest form being Crinos and the form with best senses being Lupus. ✰` Stepping Sideways`: Stepping Sideway is the ability for a Garou to step into the Umbra also known as the Spiritual Realm, often through the use of a reflective surface usually a mirror. This ability is something Raelynn rarely does unless she needs to, not just because she doesn’t like going into the Umbra...but because she hates the Weaver Spiders. She goes in only if there’s a problem that can’t be solved by physical means. ✰ Gifts: Raelynn knows five Gifts of various uses and abilities to either help on the field or in battle, these abilities go as follows: Persuasion, Climb Like Ape, Mindspeak, Sense Wyrm, Fatal Flaw. She uses them only when necessary as using them causes her irises to faintly glow a golden yellow in addition to that some of these abilities can only be used in certain ways and can only do so much. Take Mindspeak for example for it to work her target(s) must be within line of sight and does no Psionic damage. ✰Regenerative Healing: Like Most Changing Breeds, Garous has one of the best regenerative abilities, allowing Garous to keep fighting while healing most of their wounds. The ability ranges in strength between forms with it being weak in Lupus and strong in the other four forms. In Lupus, Raelynn is able to heal minor to mild wounds, any major wounds she will have to take on another form to heal it off. ✰ Shifting: Raelynn is capable of taking on four different forms - Homid, Glabro, Crinos, and Hispo, each useful in their own right. Homid, obviously the most useful, it is her regular human form - though not the strongest, it allows Raelynn to pass through the Human world without drawing too much attention. Glabro, the Wolfman form, is good for a needed boost of strength and speed without going full Crinos or lupus. Hispo, the near wolf form, is basically a massive, more bulky wolf; the best way to describe what it looks like is something similar to the Twilight Wolves. And Lastly, Crinos the hulking Half-human, half-wolf War form, a form used to start fights and end it just as quickly and a form she sometimes can take if pushed into a Frenzy. Raelynn is an Early Bloomer, her First Change came when she was around 6 months old thus had years to hone her Shifting skills. Where others sometimes have to focus to bring on the Shift, she’s able to almost seamlessly, almost without even thinking, something few are able to do as it requires one to be deeply in touch with Their Wolf, which can be both a good and bad thing. This is paired with the practiced ability to shift parts of her body such as grow Crinos talons in human form, or turn forepaws into hands but this ability takes focus and time. |
💀Weaknesses💀
💀The Movies were Right! If anyone knows Horror flicks, they know that the one way to kill a Werewolf is with Silver. This is technically true in Realynn’s case, a silver bullet or knife will burn her especially in her forms. Not only that but it will slow her Regenerative healing as well as sap her spiritual energy. These will all eventually heal but if Silver is in her body for a prolonged period of time, it can slowly start to poison her and could possibly kill her if not removed. 💀Of the Magical kind.Raelynn isn’t invincible, especially in the magical world. Damage and wounds dealt by Magic, magical weapons, or by a magical creature will not heal as quickly as they would if dealt by regular weaponry. And depending on the seriousness of the wound she may have to retreat to heal or she’ll aim to try to finish the fight quickly. 💀High Metabolism. Due to the extreme expenditure of energy when shifting from Lupus to any other form as well as the usage of spiritual energy, Raelynn’s metabolism is much higher than the average human. She needs to consume at least around 8000 - 35000 calories a day to keep her body fully functioning, and more when she's working hard. That’s at least around 14 to 65 pounds of meat a day! Thankfully like a Wolf, she can forego eating but only for about a week. Eventually, her energy will begin to dwindle, she’ll become sluggish and irritable. She’ll begin eyeing anyone or thing with a hungry look in her eyes if nothing’s around, as her survival instincts begin kicking in. And if worse comes to pass, she will go in a Feeding Frenzy and The Wolf will search and consume any living thing she can get her paws on. And it is not a picky eater. 💀The Wolf. The Wolf is the nervousness one feels when around Raelynn, it’s the carnivore that hides just behind the curtains that Raelynn keeps shut. You can see it in her eyes, see that it lurking just beneath the skin - The Wolf is Raelynn yet not but one can’t exist without the other. It has its own wants, needs, and instincts that may merely be the repressed part of Raelynn’s mind. It could potentially be considered to have a semi-sentience of its own but that is yet to be known. One of these certain needs is the urge to run and to hunt; The Wolf, after all, is still an animal and a predator. The need to Shift is akin to a bodily function similar to hunger and happens on a roughly lunar-based cycle. This can be stalled out but after a while, Raelynn will begin to grow restless and agitated and if continued any longer she’ll be forced into a Shift. Raelynn due to her upbringing in Garou Culture she can't help but show The Wolf from time to time especially under stress. Certain stimuli or dire situations where the human mind might retreat can cause it to surface or even take over. The Wolf is not any more or less naturally aggressive than any other large predator and similarly behaves like the animal it is, not an evil monster. However, as the situations that cause it to surface tend to be dire, aggression is often the most common response. 💀Shifting: Shifting is not magical nor is it done in a snap. It takes time. After all, this is the entire body changing and rearranging itself, sometimes altogether as with Crinos, Hispo and Lupus. Bones snapping, organs reorganizing, muscles swelling, it takes focus, energy and time. For an average Garou , when shifting at a normal and relaxed pace takes around 3-4 minutes, it is always painful, and cannot be stopped once started. In a hurried or stressful situation, the fastest Shift speed is a Minute but rushed Shifting can be agonizing and leave Garous exhausted for a brief moment. And in battle, every minute counts. If Raelynn needs to Shift, she would need to slip away for a couple of minutes before returning in another form as Shifting itself is not a pretty sight to see. The best way to describe what Shifting looks like is that it would look something close to the Lycan Transformations from Underworld. ` Shifting burnout` is a thing as well, its when a Garou has Shifted too many times in one day especially if done in quick succession. It’s something that rarely happens but in this day and age for Garou, it is growing more common. A Garou can Shift around five times in a day, six if they really push it. The Garou will be revert back to their Breed form; exhausted, starved, and unable to transform for at least a day. 💀Finite Gnosis. Gnosis is similar to the Polynesian concept of mana, or the Eastern concept of chi. While all creatures have some spiritual component, Garou can consciously control and use it. This energy is not infinite, she can use it up quickly and it can take a day or two to completely replenish. So she uses it sparingly. 💀Moon’s Sway. This is something all Garou deal with from meekest Ragabash to the mightiest Ahroun. The moon holds sway over the Garou, rousing the Wolf within, urging it to run and hunt. Because of this, Garou plan around the Lunar cycle, sometimes hunting and striking at night using the Moon to give them an extra Oomph in battle. For Raelynn as a Galliard, Gibbous moons are when The Wolf will be at its rowdiest and closest to the surface, Raelynn’s worse aspects bubble up during these times. She’ll be unpredictable, wild, and unruly; quick to anger and quick to start fights. During these times, Raelynn usually avoids people and stays locked up in her apartment or goes out for a long Runs in the nearby park. 💀Frenzy. Something all Garous deal with once in a while, it is common and dealt with seriously as people and Garou can get hurt in the process. Frenzies are violent outbursts of untamed savagery, the monstrous instinct for blood and brutality that lurks in the heart of every Garou. A Lot of things can cause a Garou to Frenzy but it’s usually anger. There are two distinct forms - Berserk and Fox. A Berserk Frenzy makes a Garou Shift into Crinos or Hispo and attacks everything. The Wolf is completely unleashed and its urges take over. They will tear anything in their path to bloody bits. Fox Frenzy is the state of flight; The Beast has been shaken to the point that a flight response has been triggered. It is scared shitless and will not attack anything unless in its path. It will make a beeline for the nearest hiding place and cower there until the frenzy passes. A Frenzy is, often thought of as the extremes of a Garou’s Fight-Or-Flight instincts. There’s a deeper form of Frenzy that is rare and seen as bad luck in Garou Culture called the Thrall of the Wyrm, where a Frenzy has gone past the Garou simply tearing and destroying. It becomes something more...sinister as if the Wyrm is influencing them. Garou who fall under the Thrall of The Wyrm loses Renown and is often ostracized from the Sept for a while till they prove themselves again in the eyes of the Sept. |
