Prelude

In the beginning there was only one - one that survived the change. Bound in a cage, filled with unbridled fury, madness awakening in his mind and hunger stirring in his veins - Seth was born of three.
In a quiet village - far from the reaches of mediaeval experimentation, from hands that sought to change and maim, lived a young girl and her little sister. Orphaned after a terrible accident that took the lives of both of their parents, leaving to be raised by their elderly grandparents. Simple, would have described their life. Nothing too out of the ordinary aside from the occasional warning to not go out past dark, for the creatures that haunted the woods at night were less than human.
Yet the forgetfulness of youth led the elder sister out at night, tasked with the chore of drawing up water from the town well so that clothes could be washed and breakfast made in the morning... A task that had been assigned much earlier but neglected all the day through. From her home she wandered, two empty buckets in hand, mind set on quickly returning home after fetching that water.. and yet faith would not have it as such.
That night, madness met innocence and from it birthed an ill begotten creature. Stricken with hunger and blinded by lunacy, the newly birth creature stumbled home - to the only place it'd known. It's arrival did not bring joy, however - no. Instead it ushered forth a sea of crimson, screaming ringing through the night like a distance wolves howl, only when that hunger was sated did the creature realize what she had done. What this madness had stolen from her. On that night she gathered what few measly items she could, those that meant most to her and would serve as a reminder of the oath that she swore to herself. Never again, never again would she lose control - never again would she hurt a child. She'd spend several millennia atoning for her sins, and yet the memory would remain. Haunting her as if her hands were still stained with red.
Only two words remained in her mind from the encounter with the mad man that night, Seth and Vespire. Those two words led her to hunt, discovering her lineage along the way.

The Items
Vase - Grandmother made vases out of clay and sold them around town for extra money, this was one that she gave Nessity's mother when she was still alive.
Knife - Grandfather would carve things from wood, usually little trinkets and toys he'd give to the kids in the village. He was never seen without that knife.
Doll - Nessity's little sister loved that doll, it was given to her at birth from their parents. She took it everywhere with her and slept with it nightly.
Blanket - Nessity's baby blanket, woven by her mother.
Nessity keeps these stored away, only a select few of her very closest friends/lovers have ever seen the vase. No one has ever seen the contents inside of it.
