This is a FAN CHARACTER from Monster Hunter: World, based off one of its flaghsip monsters, Nergigante. There are lots of artistic liberties in the making of this profile, so most info you come across here might be highly exaggerated and/or non-canon.

I don't mix IC with OOC. Nehu is naturally mean, if he's being it with you, chances are, I'm actually interested in writing in with you. So if it comes to mind, feel free to give me a shout.

I will not put images on which I have no permission of using in this profile that isn't official art of Monster Hunter, unfortunately, you'll have to do with text. But isn't roleplaying about writing, after all~?

If we meet in a public RP, keep the godmodding as far away as possible from me. Hyper ultra giant rail blasters, this sort of stuff. I write in a way that anyone can pose a challenge to Nehu and I value plot above 'showing who's character is the strongest'. I expect to be treated the same way.

Personality
Pride, at the very top, defines Nehugigas almost perpetual state of mind; after all, it is only natural for dragons and beasts of such great might. The Tormentor begins to change there, showing a stubborn determination to achieve whatever egoistical goals it has set, be it terrorize something much, much weaker than him or simply when he's hellbent on felling a foe that is too much even for the Tormentor to handle.

However, foes and even the occasional affairs would find themselves with the constant, often times unwelcome presence of the Extinction Dragon near them, it's only an extent of his hatred for having a prey stolen. Call it extreme jealousy.

What vastly differs Nehugigas from a typical Nergigante, however, is how it perceives morality. It's a surprise that such a monster can understand morals and, to an extent, be bound to it. The monster refuses to kill anything it perceives as weaker than itself, and even when something shows itself of a worthy rival, it prefers to incapacitate - most of the times cripple - rather than take a life.

Its most notorious behavior, however, is how Nehu sometimes take fondness for certain creatures that show affection in face of the terrifying presence it brings. Whilst fully 'taming' the Elder Dragon is a battle on itself, it treats those who respect it with equal respect. And depending on its mood, it might not mind intruders wandering unto what consider its territory. Nehu can be bargained with.
Origin
Unholy texts of many aeons past foretold its upbringing before it was even gifted with the breath of existence; a devil of ever growing hunger, destined to devour all bearing scales, wings and fire until finally, it tears through the World to devour its very core. No accurate translations of a name to such entity are accurate, however, historians agree to name it Nehugigas, "Nehu", for the more laid back students. Legendary hunters have sought this monster, very few triumphant, but all testament to the might such Extinction Dragon boasts. Only it knows the truth, of how its first memory was of the sun warming scales, once merely a talon shed from another Extinction Dragon, fully formed into a sentient grotesque pup.

It fed and grew much like its kin: Devouring the unfortunate rejected pups of other wyverns and dragon; festering on the abandoned, weakened young and dying elders. Unlike what it grew into, it wasn't bound by "honor" or manipulations of the mind such as 'morals'. The monster fed, thus it survived. Only much, much later, bound by an impulse some call curiosity, it returned to its birthplace.

There was a like image of what the humans refered as 'Nergigante'. Nehu was seeing itself, or more accurately, its origin. Another of his flesh. A parental figure. Not even the birds were witness to what took place, but there was only one impulse remained within such creature once it saw another of its likeness: An ever growing hunger. It was then that destiny showed itself to a would-be Nehu, with its cragged body pouring instantly clotting blood, agony thumping its brain from the wounds it endured while it furiously ravaged and feasted on the fell corpse of its own parent.

It is rumored that such was the reason for a Nergigante to hold so much power, to make Elder Dragons lose their composure from its scent alone, after all, it was not only one beast anymore, but two formed from the metabolized carcass of a much stronger and older Nergigante.

From that day on, when it hit exactly one hundred years as an independent creature, its hunger for other dragons only grew.
Abilities

Regrowth Plate
Crush its claws, new ones will appear; smash its bones, they will painfully but surely mend back together; sever its limbs, months may take, but they will eventually regrow. Naturally, a Nergigante possess an almost supernatural metabolism which allows it to regrow severed talons in a matter of minutes. Severing one of its body parts is never permanent and, whilst the victor is consequentially free to do whatever they took from the beast, that same lost part will always regenerate in at least a week.

Theories tell that after Nehugigas presumably consumed a number of its kin and other dragons, or its own originator, its regenerative properties were augmented to an intensity never seen before. Nehu's blood immediately clots amidst battle, its flesh appear to fold on itself to close his wounds and, some accounts tells of an episode where Nehugigas had its heart speared, only to destroy its would-be vanquisher soon after, weapon still shoved unto the hole on its chest.

Thronetaker Horn
Despite its weight, the Extinction Dragon can deftly swing its two massive clubs-for-horns to smash prey with its terrific strength. Steel fold like paper upon its force and even legendary materials are known to not stand a barrage of such horns. Even though its horns are sought after to be used as weapons, they are by no means invincible and, with enough strikes from a even heavier hammer or a well-crafted blade, they will eventually break apart.

Through the many centuries it lived, Nehugigas has known the pain of having both his horns destroyed, only for it to endure the agony of having them grown back. Again and again. One year, it is said that the monster became so infuriated by the pain, that instead of a horn, a cancerous growth of enamel grew in its place, assuming the form of a misshapen lance or long sword. And Nehugigas proudly displays his 'weapons' whenever he's about to gore its prey with them.

Jagged Carapace
The cragged aspect the body of a Nergigante takes is, again, due to its innate regenerative properties. There is no limit of how much the monster scales can grow and this results in the spiked carapace the beast painfully carry. Given time, bony appendages will cover its entire body, giving its signature jagged appearance. When agitated, a Nergigante use these spikes as a means to subdue its prey, with enough force, the monster can pound its limbs on a surface to project said spikes at deadly speeds towards his foes. Given more time, they will turn black and become solid as metal, essentially turning into spears. Armor and rock, flesh and bone, human and dragon are rendered like ribons once a Nergigante begins its assault.

Nehugigas is the only living example of a Nergigante that gave the account of how outwordly, nightmarishly, terribly itchy those spikes are once fully exposed. More of an weakspot rather than an ability, but when Nehu isn't looking for a fight or sleeping, he's nibbling on his overgrown scales or, in its own draconian ways, asking for help to sever a particularly hard to reach spike.

old description
The grievous scars sunk into this abomination's ever-regrowing hide is the littlest of its distinguishing features. Instead of a broken one, this beast painfully displays a twisted left horn: a mass of enamel overgrown into a jagged, cancerous structure, resembling the horn of a Bloodbath Diablos. It is said that so many weapons have ripped apart its horn, just to be grown again, that one day, the beast become tired, and grew one weapon itself. Yet, despite its naturally ferocious upbringing, the Nergigante carries a solemn demeanor whenever it goes.

Hunters and beasts alike, however, would find themselves a in struggle with a cunning rival, as hundreds have fell crippled to its mortal gores and impaled by its nigh-metallic grown spears. Despite it's size, Nehu is able to unleash supernaturally quick leaps towards its target, crashing down with an intense - often incapacitating - blow. For those with such ability, the pheromones it gives out in battle are clear indication of its overenjoyment with fighting. When blood boils and horns clash with blades, the monster heats up inside, a bloodlust so strong it cares little for victory, a feeling overriding its own pride. It will make sure to push its rival to the very, very limit, sometimes even showing a sense of honor.
