Her whole life, her parents were always really busy and only allowed 1 hour of their time for her per week. About a year after her little brother was born, they suddenly did not come home for work which left Kori to care for her little brother. She had to drop from school and start a small babysitting job to hold them over till she could get real work. It was when she turned 16 that she turned over all of her savings in order to get her license and passed just barely. As her brother got older and older, she kept getting new part-time jobs, they kept coming short on money and can only keep up with a small shack and enough food to hold them off from starvation. She never wanted this for her brother, so she tries to act like they are normal with good resources and lets him go to a small public school which gave her more stress to keep up with supply fees. This made her hide her emotions so that her little brother was never included in her frustration and anger with their parents, her fear of what will happen to them, and her stress of keeping them both alive.
