DREAMS OF LOVE
AND MEMORIES OF IMMENSE SADNESS Melody Wright Dumont was born the middle child to François X Dumont and his young wife X Dumont (née X). Melody grew up in a loving household, full of warmth and laughter. Marina Wright Dumont, her oldest sister had been born four years prior, and not long after Melody another sister followed suit, Celia Wright Dumont who everyone doted on. When Melody was 17 years old, her world turned upside down. Her parents and Celia passed away in a tragic accident while they were out for a drive, which robbed Melody and Marina of their family. Melody had no idea what she would have done if Rosa Fiori hadn't been there for her during the time following their deaths. Rosa was an old friend of the Wright-Dumont family and has always been there for them ever since Melody and her sisters were born. They met Rosa while they were still young; they had just gotten married and were expecting their first child. Rosa, bless her kind soul, took Melody in and under her tutelage after the tragic accident. Marina had at that point run with what was left of their inheritance and thus left Melody with nothing to her name. Their relationship had always been somewhat restrained, but after this it's no surprise that Melody viewed Marina as an estranged sister who she wanted nothing to do with. Marina never went to their parents and Celia's funerals, much to Melody's devastation, and that left Melody with only a taste for bitterness for her older sister. She never forgave Marina for that. Rosa came to know about this too and offered to let Melody stay in the apartment above Storybook Cove, Rosa's old but well-loved bookstore which Melody later came to love as if it was her own. Melody was hesitant at first, not wanting to leave the place she had grown up in, the place that held many memories of her parents. But the empty house and memories soon became too much for the young Melody who moved to the apartment above the bookstore as soon as she could. Not long after the bank took the house. Melody could have chosen to live with Rosa at her house, if she wanted, but Rosa knew that Melody would feel more at ease at Storybook Cove between the books. Growing up, Melody used to go there together with her mother who also had a love for books.
"That is part of the beauty of all literature. You discover that your longings are universal longings, that you're not lonely and isolated from anyone. You belong."
— F. Scott. Fitzgerald With Rosa's encouragement and constant support, Melody decided to go to college at the age of eighteen. Rosa was determined to have Melody make a life of her own, though she was willing to help until Melody got the means to stand on her own feet. Melody always loved to read and it came as no surprise when she, one day, informed Rosa that she was going to study English literature. Melody was determined to graduate with Honorary, to make Rosa proud and honor the memory of her parents and Celia. During her Masters degree in English literature, Melody's world came crashing down again – just as she had finally worked through her grief, was doing pretty well in her studies, and had met the most confident, funniest but sweetest guy at one of the university's parties. His name was Cedar Noël Holbrook and they clicked instantly, moving way faster than Melody had thought was possible. But she didn't mind, as she liked spending time with him. Her days after that was bliss, pure bliss, until that fateful day at Storybook Cove... For some reason, Melody hadn't slept very well for the past few days, since most of her nights had been filled with dreadful nightmares about the death of her parents and Celia. She and Cedar were on one of their weekend getaways, and she kept waking Cedar with her nightmares. When Melody woke up one morning, she couldn't shake that horrible feeling away and she decided to call Rosa. She had been in a hurry with her studies, looming over her head as thunder clouds, and decided to spend a weekend away with Cedar to avoid further stress. However, no one answered her call, making Melody worry. She knew Rosa was at Storybook Cove, because she had told Melody so herself; somebody had to watch up the bookstore while Melody was away and their other employee had quit his job a month prior to Melody met Cedar. Rosa had never gotten around to hire somebody new. Driving to Storybook Cove didn't take long, seeing as Cedar and her had spent their weekend one hour drive from Oxford. Upon entering the bookstore, the feeling of dread returned at full force. It was still too early to let customers in. Melody got no answer when she tried calling Rosa's name and therefore, she went further into the bookstore only to witness a truly cruel sight before her. The sight, that met her, would later haunt her dreams forever. Rosa was lying, face down on the floor in the bookstore, with blood everywhere and furniture scattered around. Not knowing what to do, she told Cedar to dial for help because her own hands were shaking so badly that she couldn't hold her phone. However, it was already too late when the help came. Rosa was dead. Once again, misfortune hit Melody hard as a brick wall. She was truly alone now. Rather than accepting this empty spot in her life as she had the absence of her parents and Celia, Rosa's death threw her for a tailspin. It wasn’t just the loss itself, but mostly its unfair and violent nature. The police thought it was a failed break-in attempt. Rosa was never supposed to die, yet the thief must've felt threatened when he found out that Rosa was there, killing her instead. Nonetheless, there was no sign of Rosa's murder suspect and they had yet to find the person behind, much to Melody's resentment. She felt like the police didn't do a proper job with their investigation, tempting her to take matters into her own hands. Even though there were not many leads to go on from, Melody felt like she owed it to her. However, she also needed to finish her Master's degree. Melody wanted to make Rosa proud, although she was no longer around, and in order to do such thing was to finish her degree. Yet, she also wanted to find Rosa's killer. |

Ruled by Neptune, this woman was born with subtle emotions, and secret mystic depth. She is friendly and kind-hearted but like a dream, she is so full of imaginations, her mind swims at an depth, most would drown in. She comes from a planet full of inspiration, receptivity and illusion. She has an open mind. She is beautiful, but not like most, she is beautiful for her mind, for the sparkle in her eyes when she talks about something she loves. She has the beauty of an everlasting sunrise. Full of light. She does not demand attention. She is subtle, soft but strong. She is a water sign, empathetic and compassionate. She is sensitive. Her mysterious soul draws people to her and that is part of her magic. It is what makes her so powerful. It took an entire galaxy being woven into one to make her but that does not rule her. |

|DREAM MANIPULATION|
She can create, shape, enter and manipulate the dreams of herself and others, including modifying, suppressing, fabricating, influencing, manifesting, sensing, and observing dreams as well as nightmares, daydreams, etc., possibly including past ones. She can produce and modify dreams, bestow nightmares or lucid dreaming, entrap people in their sleep, and promote spiritual/emotional healing within dreams. However, it may be limited to only putting a person in a Nightmare/Dream Realm, not fully controlling their dream. In some cases, her power also extends to the real world, such as wounds inflicted on a sleeping victim in his/hers dream, which will affectively blur the line between waking and dream. She is also able to pull someone from the waking world into the dream world or bring people/things from the dream world into the waking world.
|DREAM WALKING|
Dream Walking is a sub-power of Dream Manipulation. With this, she is capable of entering the dreams of others and may be able to enter daydreams, but she has yet to try the latter. However, this ability has its limitations, as it can only be used when her target is asleep. Sometimes, both her and her target have to be asleep at the same time too for it to work. If she is also asleep, her physical body will be vulnerable during this time.
|DREAM COMMUNICATION|
Dream Communication is a sub-power of Dream Manipulation and Dream Walking. She can communicate with other beings through their dreams, allowing her to communicate with others who may be incapable of physical speech or communicate if unable to physically speak. However, this ability also has its limitation, as it can only be used when her target is asleep/unconscious. |
