  • Personality

    August never had any sort of confidence in himself or what he could do. This forced him to always study and practice, regardless if the skill had been perfected or not. It also tended to have him stick out as the center of attention, sometimes outperforming others or failing miserable, in which he didn't like either scenario. He found that not standing out at all was the most comfortable. Being not particularly good or bad at anything.

    Because he strove to be accepted by all, his attitude and parlance would change depending on the group of people he was with. As such, he was always wearing a mask, never truly revealing who he was or how he thought.

  • Past

    August was trained from a young age to be indoctrinated into a mysterious, ancient guild. A passing adventurer and member of Long Reach, a dominant woman who specialized in brewing potions and poisons, had noticed the magical potential in a young, orphaned August. His parents are unknown to him, and he had lived in a small orphan cottage in the middle of a rural grassland for the first few years of his life that he couldn't even remember.

    It was this woman who taught him how to use the long dead magic of armaments within her personal castle. He didn't have many friends growing up, besides the undead servants of his master. Once he was sufficiently powerful enough, he replaced a dead tentacle and began his life of questing alone.

  • Magic

    In the magical setting, August had learned the power of enchantments and armaments. Specifically, he possesses the ability to overlay perks and immunity on top of his weapons and armor to suit the situation best. Over time, this power would grow to physically change his clothing, sometimes manifesting a mask made of magical energy.

    His magic is limited to only affecting lighter armor and leather for longer periods. His magic is unable to latch on to metal for long, so his sword armaments do not last long. Some metals even explode from the pressure of the magic

  • Mystery Guild - Long Reach

    The mysterious guild is known as the "Long Reach", with a symbol of an octopus. There are only 11 total members: the eight 'tentacles' with each their own unique magical power or technique, the two 'eyes' who dictate where the tentacles are sent and which jobs are accomplished, and the single 'beak' who is in charge of keeping the eyes safe and is the only one in the world with the knowledge of where all the members are. Each member is branded with a special tattoo on their hands to denote their power. August's specifically, is an octopus with each arm wrapped around an avatar of every element of the earth.

    The arms of the guild are meant to be sent out into the world and be known for their seemingly invincible power. It is also said that whenever major events or calamities occur, Long Reach is not far behind the cause or effect. Only specific, difficult jobs are chosen for the tentacles.

    It was once believed that if your country made an enemy of Long Reach, it would be cursed to damnation. Now, it's nothing but an old wive's tale, but some traditions are still upheld, and many countries would welcome a member into their borders with open arms.
