Adonias

As the spawn of an uncommon pairing between a Bronze Metallic dragon and an Emerald Gem dragon, Adonias receives his appearance and abilities from a combination of both. Including the ability to change forms from his Bronze Sire. His true form is that of a dragon with emerald crystalline scales and bright green eyes. Most of his scales looking like emeralds themselves, while his horns appear more like green tinted glass. Despite the appearance however, his scales and horns are not fragile, instead they are quite durable and as efficient as any armor. His bronze heritage is not lost, however. His horns are laced with veins of bronze, and his teeth, claws, and inside his mouth is a metallic bronze. His tongue is a rich black. As a dragon, he is quadrupedal with six limbs, including a pair of leathery wings with bronze membranes. He is Huge, easily over fifteen feet from head to tail. From the ground to his shoulder is about twice the height of an average human (10.5').

As stated, he is capable of shape-shifting. However, because he is not a full-blooded metallic dragon, he requires much more concentration and practice to make a form indistinguishable from its natural inspiration. As such, most forms he takes are a blend of the intended form and his true form. Animals with crystalline pelts and metallic teeth. One of the few forms he had put effort into is that of a human. Usually a muscular man with tanned skin and bronze colored hair. His inhumanly bright green eyes being the only indication of his true origins. He can also take a middling form with patches of emerald scales, Draconian legs and tail, bronze claws, and the largest of his horns.

Besides Shape-shifting, Adonias has a number of abilities due to his mixed Draconian blood. Most obvious is his ability to fly and swim. He also has heightened senses, including excellent dark vision, as well as the ability to breathe underwater. He is immune to fire and lightning and his scales are resilient to non-magical attacks including bludgeoning, slashing, and piercing. Due to his bronze blood, he has two breath attacks, lightning breath which shoots out bolts of lightning and repulsion breath which creates a wave of energy that pushes enemies back. His teeth, claws, tail, and even wings are also useful weapons when needed. He rarely goes looking for a fight, but he is not one to run from a fight either.

Adonias makes his lair in the dormant volcano of an island just off the coast, aptly named dragon's tooth island. He generally leaves the residents of the mainland alone, save for the occasional lost livestock in times when wild prey is scarce. Those who trespass on the island however are rarely seen again. Despite this, adventurers often brave Adonias' domain chasing stories of the dragon's horde. Supposedly including a great pearl which could be the key to a lost city full of treasures and lost knowledge.

The Lair itself has three entrances. One underwater, which is too deep to swim without the ability to breathe water or with magical aid. One at the peak of the dormant volcano, which needs expertise to climb the steep sides or the ability to fly. And a main entrance at the volcanos base, hidden behind a waterfall. Once within the dragon carved fortress, the lair is a maze of tunnels. Some large enough for the dragon to easily navigate at full size, and others barely small enough for a halfling. For the dragon isn't the only resident of the volcano. There is also a tribe of kobolds that live there. Serving the needs and desires of their dragon overlord and mining the rich resources of the volcano. Many of the tunnels are lined with their traps to keep the lair safe from invaders. At times, the kobolds travel to the mainland bringing brilliant jewels and dragon coin to trade for resources they cannot obtain themselves, fueling the rumors of the dragon's horde. They are usually left alone in the coastal town where they take their business. They bring good coin and treasures, after all. Only one time did someone have the gall to kill the kobold merchants and take their goods themselves. The thieves were later found electrocuted and mauled in their camp. The dragon's coin retaken as well as any other goods the thieves had with them.
