One of the fun and often confounding aspects of the fae is their dual nature, always both Seelie and Unseelie, welcome to fluctuate but usually more greatly influenced by one as opposed to the other. And generally when your kith tells you, a newly chrysalized little fool, the court they find most favorable, you’re suddenly the kid that jumped off a bridge because everyone else did it too. When the older nockers told Nerissa they thought the Unseelie Court had the furkin’ right of it, she did just that. Joined up with the other three to two ratio of her fellows. Wasn’t too bad at first. It was better than being the disappointing middle child back home that couldn’t match up to her “great potential”. She was clever. She knew it. Something just always went and got fucked right the hell up by the end. Sometimes only she noticed it. In the Unseelie Court she did as she liked, made what she wanted with little to no restriction. Hell, the constant progress made for a hell of an education in pseudoscience and Gematria, and she was damn good at it. For a while, everything seemed good, despite the constant frustration of flawed creations. But then a few years back she just...switched. Furked right the fuck outta the Unseelie Court and took all her shit and research with her. For a time she seemed to disappear, next thing anyone knew she was back in Swansong Alley pitching prosthetics and when her old angry compatriots asked what the furk she had been thinking, her only answer was she didn’t want to talk about it. These days she’s gone Seelie, or at least trying to be and operates out of the dinky little apartment she calls a workshop. Officially Nerissa makes some impressive prosthetics with a distinct otherworldly touch, though a good chunk of the profits still go into perfecting a special little weapon stored away in the back. The Fire Belcher will be perfect one day. She just has to keep trying and figure out some loophole around the curse of her kith. It’s also not uncommon to find her in the company of the big damn storybook hero Thyranna Sunshield...oh, wait, pardon me, Greta Lindshield-holm-whatever the hell she gets called at any given moment. Let’s just say there’s no shortage of stories of what dirt the troll has on her.

Chimera
Blaise is a salamander chimera the size of a small dog and red as flame. A significantly friendlier creature than his mistress, Blaise often seems to act more like a cat or dog than a little fire-breathing lizard. Ultimately he seems unaware of the fact that he bears a long matchstick tail, and embers rise along his spine when excited or defensive. The chimera also has a tendency to nap in fireplaces, furnaces, and any place with fire and extreme heat and to chew on coal like bones.
