There are many rumors surrounding the woman that is Sebille Duskveil. That she removed a political rival with the help of a cold iron clasped corset. That she had committed murder thrice with words that cut as deep as her rapier. That she was born the epitome of a cold, calculating beauty. She will confirm nor deny any of them. Why bother? The bigger the legacy, the more everyone else knows to grant you two precious little things; respect and a wide berth. Sebille is a sidhe whose past is shrouded in mystery, and the few who remember it do so with a grudge and sealed lips. The common thread of all the stories is that she was once a Seelie knight, who upon suffering a great injustice turned to the Unseelie Court, where she has been to this day. No one quite understands her motives, perhaps she is nothing more than self-serving, accruing glamour and lackeys for the day Winter finally overtakes the world. Or perhaps there is a greater motive at play. Whatever may be, Sebille has diligently crafted for herself the image of a coldly beautiful and cutthroat noblewoman who makes use of every scrap of her influence for her own ends. The Unseelie bear a degree of admiration for her tenacity, the Seelie scowl at the very mention of her treacherous name.

Those who inhabit her social circles will tell you that like many sidhe she spends more time managing the duties of her freehold and her own perhaps less than honorable activities, always doing so with the peerless grace and poise associated with her people. When she does step out into the Autumn World, she operates as a woman by the name of Susanna Wright. It’s a fine enough costume, even if Susanna’s family and paltry ties have the tendency to be utterly exhausting. Even so, they unfortunately pull at her. One of the inconveniences of the Changeling Way. Though she supposes she does enjoy the life of an art critic, if for nothing else than to show these humans and prodigals what real talent and craft truly is. And the connections certainly don’t hurt, nor the glamour for that matter. And if her criticism is harsh...well, these human creatures should know better than to call their pale imitations of fae expertise masterpieces.
