Once Upon A Time, in a kingdom long forgotten by time lived a small royal family overshadowed by tragedy. It’s King (Leon) and Queen (Leatrice) gave birth to twins (Giselle and Georgeanna) and all throughout the land was happy and prosperous. For a time.
The Kingdom was in the midst of an enchanted forest and the twins would go out and play with the birds and dance in the springs without worry or care. Giselle, the youngest, liked simple things, sitting by the lake with friends, skipping stones, braiding her sister’s hair, and adorning their braids with their birthstones.
It was a simple life.
Far too simple for Giselle as she had dreams of magic powers as limitless as her imagination. She read all the tomes, and grimoires and spell scrolls in the kingdom she could get her hand on but before long that wasn’t enough. She wanted more.
Unfortunately the greater powers that be didn’t like this small princess soaking up all this magic so easily, so the decided to punish the princess. One night they sent a horde of monsters swarming into the forest to kill all the birds, poison the water in the lakes and spring, and seizing the castle Giselle and her family called home. They had no choice but to flee.
While on the road the Queen and her sister grew ill after drinking water they thought to clean. Giselle, as powerful as she was could not come up with a spell to save them. Soon it was just the King and his one child, a wedge between them as expansive as the sea for the King saw nothing but darkness in Giselle now. If it weren’t for Giselle’s magic his wife and heir would be alive still. If not for Giselle’s quest for knowledge he would still have a kingdom.
The King quickly turned on his only child.
“Father, please I told you there are no spells to bring them ba-”
“Silence! Did you forget the rules? You speak only when I say. You do al I say. Disobedience least to punishments.”

“Put it on.” Her father said.
“B-but this was Georgenna’s clothes.”
This earned her a backhand to the face. “What did I say about questions. Put your clothes on, Georgenna.”
Eyes wide with understanding Giselle Georgenna ducked behind a tree and put on her clothes.

Georgenna looked between the ship and her father. “I don’t understand. Why do I have to go on the ship? Are you not coming with me?"
Ignoring her the King turned back to the captain. “Take her to the Guildereim straight away, no stops, I’m paying you extra to make sure she gets there and is placed in the hands of Christoph Heinrich Von Nikolai and no one else. He knows what to do with her.”
“Father, what are you saying? You can’t mean to leave me here, to cast me away like this.”
Without a backward glance the King walked away, the cries of his daughter echoing into the night.
