    I find myself within the lands of my dreams, surrounded by visions of my youth with a feeling unlike any I have felt since my youth, why am I so frightened?
    
    I have returned to Eileadora, and are things most hectic. Since arriving everything has gone my way, and everything had moved against me.
    
    The day I arrived back home to the Continent of Etla it was snowing. Cold, and desperate I found some few in this land I called home; things seemed bright. Slowly but surely I introduced myself to those within the kingdom, I met with many, and dealt little, my return was both the most profitable moment of my life thus far, and the most disastrous first month of the year I have suffered.
    
    I met with a Blacksmith by the name of Black Ashley. She claims to be from the same world as The Dragon. I doubt she knows or understands this, but her knowledge attests that she must have come from a point after the death of magic in their plane, and as such is so distant from her home she has no hope of return; for now I keep to myself that I may be able to return her home; she must find her own way.
    
    Meeting with this women, and finally finding a Smith I thought worthy of repairing my main Fetish and Focus has cost me Five Thousand gold, the largest of expenditures I plan to make this year, sans a potential loan to the Kingdom of Eileadora.
    
    Ah, Eileadora. My favorite place, but also the most dangerous I have found in my time. This week some errant mage summoned some type of beast which attacked the clock tower. Since my return the docks have been attacked, so many innocents have been injured, and so much carnage has transpired that I could not take this added slight; in retrospect perhaps I took things too personally.
    
    Finding the beast responsible for the mayhem, and with the generous assistance of some mysterious ice swordsman the beast was eventually defeated and its physical form was broken and banished. Unfortunately I was too exhausted, too slow and perhaps too weak to block a last attack by the mage in question. It was a brutal attack that felled me almost instantly, once more teaching me the virtue of humility, I am not immortal, I am not unplayable.
    
    I discovered the child who attacked me is progeny of the Master of Law, a powerful shadow mage in his own right. I have dealt with others of my training in my day, Trench came to me when he was looking to get back on his feet; even denying him that day, it gave me pause that the titans of my day view me as equal, or at least of great assistance to them.
    
    I think I may have found my match in Den, I do not want to push my agenda too much, and having approached him with a duel, my intention was to clear the debt between us, I did not mean to spark a war, but I did act with the knowledge that such could be the outcome. In truth I expected more of Den, but he refused my initial offer of truce and a thrust at diplomacy. This leaves me with the unfortunate task of having to beak his families finances, and if possible his families standing within the city until he agrees.
    
    I do not really look forward to this prospect, I have never participated in the type of familial warfare that is common of many noble houses, but I cannot let his insult of my honor stand, not if I have any intentions of ever being taken with any respect in the business world.
    
    I was considering intentionally losing against Den in the combat I wanted to force out of him, now I am almost certainly going to have to win. I wonder... I will have to bring all of my arms, all of my weapons with me. The man scares me, but ultimately this is much to my benefit. Fear into hate; hate into fear.
    
    I will have to complete this ritual I have planned soon, so my sword can be completed. If I have it in combat against Den, I believe I can defeat him. Otherwise it may be a coin toss. Regardless my honor will remain intact. I have that, at least for now.
    
    I never focused on acquiring power, it never interested me, knowledge always seemed of more value. Perhaps this is why most dislike me. I am dangerous in this way, but I have always revered those who had real power. Ly'Tillius my warden, The Lady my Queen, Trench, and Rishana. They all had, or have real power of some sort or another. i have never had this, and so all of them are like heroes to me, it is why I could not help Trench, too much respect and reverence to see him as anything other than my direct superior so I knew it was impossible for me to be his Lead in anyway; a bad employee.
    
    I have met Tillius and he seems otherwise sane, this fills my heart with cheer, to see him well and healthy his mind intact.
    
    The Lady Enchantress has been informed of my intentions to construct a new clock tower to repair Den Fa's negligence. What I have yet to tell her is that I am placing a tap at the bottom of the fountain to suit my benefit. Infiltrating and adding runes to Sairon was easier than I thought. The portal I had installed long ago was still operational, the initial runes were dispelled, but the third-layered traps were intact, which would have drawn in all ambient magic and opened up a portal; considering the trap was several levels above The Heart of Sairon this would have been strong enough to bypass the wards. It was not needed since I was allowed access by The Lady, my Queen. Making the alterations to The Heart that were needed, the new tap at the base of the Clock-Tower will absorb a very minuscule amount of the Magic of the land. The Hedge mages shall rejoice, as will My Queen and King when they see the gift I have for them.
    
    The Bookstore is ago, and Lae is back. My heart and expectations are exceeded.
    
    I must visit Silver-souls Castle soon, fate feels fresh there.
    
    Must learn more about the King, a Darkarma. I feel like I once fought the man, or one of his kin with bladed weapons of some sort on his hands and feet, my memory fails me, a trait happening more and more frequently.
    
    I expect to be fully healed in 10 days {IRL February 16}
    
    
    
    Like I said at the start, these have been the best of times, and the worst of times.

  • The Book of White; E.E. January 1st 1550, 9:00 am

    Before you stands the Book of the mage Exandar Eristis.
    
    The cover was a beautiful looking bleached white leather that was robust. Stamped in purple ink so dark it verged to the black were the letters E.E. The cover extended around the lip of the book, and all the way to the other side where a rather simple looking lock system stood; this was only the first of traps. The top and bottom of the book was the only place one could look to see the pages while the book was closed; it appeared the edges at least were powdered gold.
    
    If one could open the book, an impressive feat considering the seven enchantments of differing effect and severity that protected the book just against such an event, than they would be confronted by a feast of the senses. The pages were black and made of thick quality parchment, the ink was a bright almost pinkish red, a bright clear white of a beautiful almost three dimensional gold; The gold was mundane ink mixed quite heavily with gold shavings until the effect desired were achieved. In this case, it was in the construction of contracts, and the schema of rituals and magic.
    
    Most of the book was taken up by writings in the white ink, his drawings of nature, or his writings on the realities of the universe. Anything and everything that one might record in another place, at another time; safe information If one opened the book, these pages were the ones that were easy to open, no spell, no traps, no effect save perhaps enlightenment. The book had a habit of opening to pages of interest for ANYONE who finds the book, not just Dar. The knowledge found was always pertinent to the matter at hand, and of some benefit to the reader.
    
    His journals and personal writings were recorded in a shade of red that almost looked like white ink but with a bit of blood mixed in. It was here the pitfalls, traps, or encodings began. The traps were impressive. They included but were not limited too death hexes, dismemberment curses, demonic pacts and contracts, as well as insanity inspiring content, even once all the magic was taken into account. Some were quite insidious, and others were harmless, almost every page one turned to with red ink had a scry spell that attempted to acctivate at the lightest jostle. Reader beware.
    
    The final pages were the magic, the schemae, devices and other things Exandar thought was better not be revealed to the public; they were in gold ink. These pages only had one curse on them,. This being that the holder of the book, should they not be Dar, would be afflicted by a Geass Spell. The curse had an impressive strength, and even an experienced mage would take weeks, months, or years to read them all. They bore no encoding, and only one gambit was made to hide the trove of explanations and descriptions that made sense of the book. The truth was all text in gold was written with hieroglyphics in the style of The First Dynasty, and used ancient Egyptian symbols instead of normal magical jargon.
    
    All this said, the book was not incredibly difficult to read, if you put in the time and effort.
    
    They would find this book one day, and some would read it, who knew who.
