In the forest, the sky vanishes almost completely, only a few fragments of blue remain- like scattered pieces of an impossible jigsaw puzzle. The air is rich with the fragrance of leaves and loam, damp too. Even so many hours after the rains have passed, the soil remains wet, slowly releasing its heady fog. Outside is the noon daylight, the powerful rays of early summer, but in here everything is cool and the colors have the softness of that time just before twilight. The only movement is the occasional bird, startling in a tree or a squirrel dashing up a nearby trunk. The sound of running water in the brook has the same hypnotic quality as music.
A brown wolf ran through this forest, dominance radiating from the wolf as he traveled. Emerald orbs flitted back and forth across the forest floor, the faint rays of the sun highlighting his fur to an amber hue. Amarok paused mid-step, lifting his head to the sky as he crossed the boundary of Nightstalker pack territory into the unknown. Excitement bubbled within the male as he rushed through the forest, he had trained to be an alpha since he took his first steps. When the time came, Amarok was supposed to lead Nightstalker pack, but that didn't settle with him as it should have...Good thing he had found someone who would help him with his new journey.

On the crest of the hill are several silhouettes, wolfish. Two stand almost statue-like while the others tumble about, pulling one another over. When the foremost wolf howls they all stop, drawn to join in like they have been invited to a family feast. Together they fill the still air with their "singing." I guess that's their hymn, one song, no words, just pure joy.
Ramoth and Amarok had found each other approximately 7 years ago, and together, they had founded the Bloodmoon Wolf Pack. The female had been the original leader but had stepped down, giving the title to Amarok, but the pack would follow her willingly if need be. When she had stepped down, she had taken the role of Beta, but was also the Guardian of the pack and enjoyed these roles more than she had alpha. Together, Amarok and Ramoth led the pack through many battles and peaceful seasons, with no intention of disbanding.
