Penelope Costello

Penelope was born into rather unfortunate circumstances. Her father was old fashioned and abusive, while her mother was cold and distant. Neither seemed to love the three children they bore. Her earliest memory is aged six and being locked in the airing cupboard by her father for a whole day, merely for accidentally spilling her water on the carpet. It was due to this rather cruel treatment she received from her parents that led to her having a strong bond with her siblings.

When she was nine, social services were called to her home. She and her brothers were taken away and placed into the foster system. Unfortunately, while they could not remain together, Penelope was allowed to keep in contact with her brothers and visit them on a regular basis. All three proved to be rather gifted in terms of intelligence. She went on to graduate high school in an almost identical way to her brother Atticus, getting the best grades in her class and several scholarships into various Universities.

She spent the next three years studying History, a subject she'd grown to love over the years. Of course, like any young adult, she experimented with sex, alcohol and drugs, but remained dedicated to her studies and left with a degree her foster parents couldn't have been more proud of. While training to become a professor, Penelope also decided to go back to college part-time and learn psychology in Order to become a therapist. She wanted to help her students and other people who suffered as she did.

Aged twenty-four, she is now a fully qualified professor of History and a licenced therapist who is based at a High School in New York City. It is hardly surprising thanks to her relaxed and carefree nature that she's a big hit with her students who all enjoy attending her lessons. She is probably the first teacher at the facility that has managed to encourage her students to actually do their homework and deliver it on time. She also offers indivudual and group therapy sessions for the students, making her a shoulder they can lean on.
