➣LOOKS▪ Around 5'6", average weight, a little homely. His hair's a shaggy mess of waves in dark chocolate, the ends a little split and in desperate need for a trim. It's clear he doesn't brush it often, and if he does, he's rough with it. Eyes are a little grayish, clear but not too bright. As far as facial hair goes, he usually presents himself shaved or with a thin layer of stubble. His sense of fashion is fairly unassuming and regular, favoring sweaters and jeans regardless of temperature, although he does dabble in shorts and tees during the hotter months. He's not an outright fashion disaster, but he could use a little help. ➣MENTAL▪ Although prone to depressive episodes, he practices what he'd call forceful optimism. It's easy for him to fall into negative patterns of thinking, but as a means to combat that, tries to force himself to forgo that and focus on the positive instead, regardless of how it can make him willfully ignorant at times. He's prone to escapism, whether it be in reading books or stargazing or painting. He loses himself to these hobbies during bouts of intense depression. Although his dreams are both good and bad, as are most people's, he sometimes has trouble differentiating dream and reality upon waking.

➣LIKES▪ Silence, unique teas, the smell of pipe tobacco (although he's not fond of smoking it), the smell of sage, rocks and crystals (even if he's not so sure what their scientific names are), mossy locations, walking through woods after a heavy rain. Though he's not up to par on astrological knowledge, he finds solace in peering at the stars through a particularly cheap telescope. ➣DISLIKES▪ Too much noise, fireworks (the visuals are fine but the noise is too much), loneliness, hospitals (too sterile), bright and hot summer days. Darkness is a genuine fear of his, and if there is not a light on of some sort, his discomfort only grows. He tends to see shapes in the darkness, and though he knows they're not really there, it's startling and makes it hard to sleep.

➣POSITIVE▪ He is loyal, although perhaps to a fault. He's protective of animals and of some people, and is always eager to lend a hand. He sees the good in people, though some may say he views the world too often through rose colored glasses. Likewise, he also sees the beauty in things some might not be able to. He cares with his whole being; for example, he may collect a deceased bird to bury it somewhere he feels would be respectful to the bird. ➣NEGATIVE▪ He's... sensitive. Prone to getting angry just as he's prone to getting sulky and sad. He's not really a violent guy, but his overactive mind tends to latch on to the negative more than he likes to admit. Although he claims to have a difficult time trusting and opening up to people, some have a way of slipping through the cracks, and it is then that he's too trusting, maybe gullible. He builds walls average people may have a hard time climbing over or breaking through.

Backstory Wip((WIP))
-Born to a single mother. Father was a one night stand.
-Mother raised him with some neglect. She cared, but cared more about her own life. She resented him for taking away her freedom, and once he was about six or so, started leaving him home alone. Affording baby sitters was rough for her financially, so as soon as he was 'old enough,' she left home more often to go drinking and partying with friends.
-She had a few boyfriends, many were pretty awful people who stole from her or enabled and exacerbated her alcoholism.
-His grandparents, who rarely came by due to tension between them and their child, made a visit one year during the Holidays. It ended in more tension as the only reason his mother invited them was to ask for money, but their adoration for their grandson kept them from growing too estranged.
-He was gifted an art set and some kid's books, where he'd discover his love for literature and painting and sketching. He never stopped creating after that.
-Through the years, they sent gifts during holidays and birthdays that pandered to his creative and adventurous side. He didn't see his mother a lot, was a socially awkward thing so friendships weren't too common. He did grow up with a few friends here and there, but they moved around a lot and he changed schools often, even if it was within the same couple of counties.
-When he was ten, his mother got married to a man who seemed to follow the same trend as far as her relationships went. Her parents didn't condone this and worried for their grandson. It was when they got a call in the middle of the night where he wept and explained his mother's husband had gotten violent with them, and they remained on the phone until they arrived at the home to yank him out of the situation. They tried to push for a divorce in private, offered to house her until she felt safe, but she wouldn't accept. The cons of the relationship did not outweigh the fact he had money and alcohol.
-His grandparents fought tooth and nail for custody, where he'd stay at their home. She refused to give him up, and there wasn't much that could be done to force the change in custody. She relented to let him stay every school break and any weekend they wanted him, but refused to accept giving up as though afraid it made her a bad mother.
-When he was thirteen, he disposed of all the alcohol the day after another fit of violence from his step-dad, thinking it would help, but initially he had blamed his wife. They were quick to understand that he was the one to toss the booze, and he got violent with him again. His mother was shouting and upset, but not so much with her husband as she was her child, failing to see the reason why he did what he'd done.
-He ran away that evening and called his grandparents from a pay phone, who hurried to his location and took him in. Custody was fought for and they won majority.
-Although he struggled with depression and trauma from his upbringing, he was doing substantially better and was a generally happy teen. His grandparents were loving, though a little old fashioned. He knew he had a gay uncle his grandpa had grew distant from, and so when he realized his attraction toward other boys his age, he kept it quiet.
-His grandpa passed away when he was fifteen, and his grandma only half a year later.
-Family was reached out to, and his mother stepped back into the picture, who had retained partial custody throughout the years. His life spiraled back into what he'd known before living with his grandparents, and his mother's resentment toward him only grew due to the realization that their will called for all of their belongings, home and all, to go to their grandson the moment he turned 18.
-Although he hated where he was at and the life he resumed, he knew that he had much to look forward to. They moved into his house, but throughout the years to come, it was neglected and damaged so deeply that it would cost more than it was worth to fix it up. His mother had developed hoarding disorder due to the loss of her parents, the home became infested with bedbugs so severely it was impossible to get rid of them, his step-dad was a heavy smoker, and they had several cigarette fires in the home. Although insurance covered some of the damage, there was little they could do to fix the place. Instead, the money was tucked away in that saving's fund.
-When he was sixteen, he got his first job under the table at a cafe, saved up for a shitty car, got his license, and by the time he was seventeen, ran away from home to live in his car.
-At 18 he had access to the money, so he sold his car, got a somewhat better one, abandoned the home he'd inherited, and applied for a college where he was able to pursue further education for his painting.
-After graduating with a bachelor's, he began to work as a freelance artist out of his own studio apartment part time. His other 'part time' job was a book store owned by an old lady he'd befriended at a previous short-term gas station job.
