Benefits of Shifter Blood:
*Speed - He is the fastest of the Archem line.
*Strength - He is stronger than an average human. Can take a punch that could knock a human out cold, but can issue one that could take their head off.
*Heightened Senses - Hearing, Smell, Taste, Touch, Vision are all amped up to a degree.
*Body Heat - Higher than a humans - 42°C
*Regeneration - Accelerated. Wounds tend to heal within minutes depending on severity. Longest taken: 2 full days.
Disadvantages:
*Phasing - He tends to shift uncontrollably when angered. If shifted during an irate state, it takes longer to calm and settle back into a human form.
*Rogue - If he remains in his wolf form for too long, he chances on turning rogue and the only way to end that suffering is by termination.
*Scent - He tends to smell like wet grass after a light rain, timber, and pine. Nothing off-putting, but an indicator that he isn't a full-blood human.
*Temperament - A shifter's temperament can be lower than the average human; (Cano has managed to control that side of him quite well)
Mind Link: The ability to share a mental connection with another being. Generally a pack will have this source of connection through the hierarchy; it can also be formed from bonding. The others can feel, hear, and sense what another is enduring; be it physical or emotional. The stronger the sensation, the more it can affect the other(s) in both negative and positive ways.
Example: If one is being attacked, the other can feel the pain the one that is being subjected to and cause the other to become disoriented, panicked, or make costly/fatal judgments (negative). Another is during hunts, it allows for the pack to work as a single unit and retain their stealthy nature (positive).
The only way to severe a mind link is to be disbanded from the pack. However, if the mind link is created through a bond then one of the parties must be beyond a five-hundred mile radius for it to be ineffective or deceased. If the bond was strong enough, it can affect the living party to succumb to deep levels of depression, headaches, and possibly turning rogue.
Channeling/Healing: The ability to channel one's strength to another under direct focus. The only issue, is that he is not able to absorb the other's ability or energy in this process. It is one of his attributes at being a healer, even if he disregards the gift altogether.
Example: If one becomes weak during an attack he can project his energy into them. The downside of this is that it weakens him in return; like a counter balance. The benefit is that he can remain completely away from the event and still manage to project his energy into them to boost their strength.
During this channeling method, he cannot do much due to he must sustain his concentration on the other party. This can only work with pack members and those that he bonded with.
Healing (Direct Contact): The ability to heal another's wounds by direct contact. Sure, shifters have an accelerated healing effort. However, there are times when wounds are severe enough that take longer to fade.
Example of Use: He would place his hands over the other's abdomen and within seconds the injured areas will begin to glow. He would then lean over them, keeping their mouth open and take in a breath. Looking away from the injured party (including onlookers) and exhale into the air a black essence. Depending on the severity, the process could be repeated multiple times until all luminous patches are gone.
The cons of this method is severe exhaustion, sharp headaches, and weakness. The recovery can range from half an hour up to four hours depending on how bad the injuries were that required healing.
The pros of this method is that the other party will be healed, but still endure tenderness (if it had been a broken bone or gunshot wound). No pros for the him though; aside from gaining IOU's.
