We Gotta Get Out of this Place

Murphy's Law is a bitch. Anything that could have gone wrong did, or at least the important parts, and Carter is stuck behind the Iron Curtain with no direct line back home. If he can just make it to England...
This plot can be long or short, and have multiple themes, including survivalist, espionage, tense action and drama. Perhaps Y/c is a kind stranger who took to help him in his journey, a teammate who's been dragged along for the ride, or is even an agent in hot pursuit of a valuable asset for their company or country.

Soul Sacrifice

A blank stare into the sky. Carter doesn't know where he is or have any memory of the few months, and has simply just woke up. The last thing he remembers was going to bed, in his home, on a normal day.
Longer term plot, focused on building relationships and a bit of drama. Y/c would help him piece together what happened, and maybe even do some globe trotting to help retrace his steps. They may or may not remember about as much as Carter does of recent events, and be in the same hole as they figure out whats happened. Or to put a twist on it, they could be some kind of counter-intelligence who is just as interested in that gap as he is.

Season Comes

Target acquired.
Carter is a person of interest, even after he's retired. Perhaps its a personal agenda, simply business, or in the interest of a foreign government to make more of him that has him in a tough spot being tracked and tailed, but here he is. Unfortunately, he's not quite out of practice.

Friends in Low Places

He owes you one, bigtime, for whatever reason. Or maybe he just likes you, it's hard to stay.
Y/c is stuck in a rock and a hard place and Carter (begrudgingly) helps. "Fine, but I'm going to complain the whole time."

Cyberpunk 1967: Got some weird bullshit? I'd love to hear it if you think it would mesh well for this old cyborg. I love a good retelling or reimagining of world history, as long as we aren't getting too problematic with it.

Heroes Never Die: I would absolutely love to bounce Cart off of people with similar archetypes! Think super soldiers, cyborgs or robots, mercenaries, mechanics, scientists, all of that. I'm fairly open to all sorts!

While My Guitar Gently Weeps: Carter has been through hell and back and indebted for something he didn't even really want, so needless to say he has a complicated relationship with suits and ultra patriots.

In some ways, Carter actually had been enjoying himself in this place. The slow pace, the lack of responsibility or jobs- for the first time in what had to be decades, he did not feel the weight of the world resting on his shoulders. And he could simply exist, hunting and relaxing by a fire. No bothering, no jobs, no spying, no wars or guns or anything. Just the rhythmic noise of axe on wood.

He felt the shock of the wooden handle through his palms and up his arms, the weight of the axe. It was good.

The marine had taken up residence in one of the more abandoned looking homes on the very edges of the village. Certainly ramshackle, but slowly, slowly, he had been fixing it to make it more livable, and it was out next to the house that he was chopping wood for the fire. There had been a pile of rotten, punky stuff when he had found the place. He could only assume that, if anyone lived here, they were long gone. Besides, who was going to tell him to leave?

But the existence here, it was lonely too. Of course there had been the girl from the inn who had helped him out, and the stranger from the woods, but it wasn’t the same. He stopped, breathing out puffs of steam as he stared at the split log in front of him, thinking. Perhaps it was better like this, to be alone, and unboth-
