The Contract Guidelines
Niv is the most active evil OC I have on my roster. He is not a character for the faint of heart, nor should you assume that your respective OC will ever achieve any level of friendship/relationship with Niv. He is more likely to dismember or mangle your character in the long term than form any meaningful long-term connection. On all levels, treat Niv as a villain you'd read about in novels and literature as a whole. The malicious, scheming, style miscreant that everyone hates over time sort of deal.
There is some hope though so do not fear! There are ways people can reach out to this devious creature in ways that will still create a healthy roleplay for both parties to enjoy.
Option A.Any sort of merchant setting is acceptable in most regards. While disembodying the locals and creatures around the area is the main enjoyment, he still has obligations, surprisingly enough. Niv works directly under a vital organization with bigger plans past selfish desires. The very organization requires funds, as of which Niv is put in charge of handling using natural charm that is typically weaponized to attract people to their doom. In this scenario, it's just the death of a hard-earned coin instead of the victim's life. Because of this, almost any merchant character or people who work under trades is welcome to approach him. While still troubled in nature and twisted in the same breath, the conversation is significantly more accessible than it would be outside of the setting.
Option B.Contract work or contract creation. Niv is restrained by the lawful nature of working under all contracts and following them in the precise direction. If you specifically ask to work under or with Niv by agreement, he will go through the steps to ensure that every detail is covered and obeyed (Through precaution steps that he will explain, of course, if that happens.) This method is hands down the best way to get a long-term roleplay with Niv without him trying to take your arm or some other vital part of the character.
Option C.You work under the organization they are a part of, which then they will be unable to harm your character in any negative intention. This usually equals almost always a long-term plot, which I'd instead explain in a Private message than on here. Make sure to bring this up to me so I can offer details.
Option D.You take your chances outside of all three of the top scenarios and accept whatever outcome it may be. I will not throw punches when it comes to writing stuff out, and if they find your character to be inconvenient or simply obtrusive, prepare to fight. There is always the chance that the setting and plot prove to be equally gainful for both parties, in which he may temporarily work with your character. But proving to not have long-term benefits without a contract created may prove troublesome and very dangerous for your OC. You are only a drop of water out of the entire ocean to him in the end.
