Rina Yilrae Lin-Daltis

It's said the capital of Lieria is no place to leave a child unattended, its many maze like streets and deep cavernous undergrounds proving to be dangerous even for trained soldiers. That statement is not strictly true, the edges where population density begins to thin out are wonderful places for a child to grow up, however there is another loophole. That is to be born as one of the dwellers in the underdark. a child of the night.

While such a nickname was obviously not self given it is not without its merits, many who grow up in the underlands of Tharen go for long periods without sunlight and so bear a distinctive extremely pale skin, something that contrasts harshly with those around them.

It is in these streets that Rina was brought into the world.

She spent the first seven years of her life growing up in those streets, aquring the quintisential paleness of skin, the dirty fighting techniques and irelevant attitude which pervades those streets. It was in her seventh year she first went topside to experiance the Eventide, the first of Lieria's great celebrations, she reveled in the sights and sounds, tasted foods she'd only dreamed of and watched plays on the great deeds of ancestor spirits.

Within six hours she'd managed to chip the top of her left horn in a fight she started with a young sea-elf. Landing both in trouble with several local guards. Yet this was just the start of the excitement for the young Gehornyr

"You want to be entered into Alishi academy, is this correct, Rina Yilrae Daltis?"

"Er, yes, that's right Mr Ji ... err eh, sorry I mean Linshi-Ji."

"Yes ... There's just a few questions first, you must understand, every single student here at Alishi is here because they belong to the best part of Lieria."

"First ... how did you become a Han-ra guard to the Deiters?"

"I ...eh, well I don't remember that day too well, it was my first Eventide you see."

"You were one?"

"Ah! No, I was err, seven, it was my first proper Eventide really, I'd grown up in the underlands before then and well, it just isn't the same down there, have you, have you been?"

"I eh, sorry, was just wondering. Well I don't remember much of the day, best thing I can was the play being held over in Tellar Plaza, the place lit only by lanterns, tried to imitate Lieria afterwards, where I got this. Dunno why how I did, but some local troops saw some promise in me, got pulled into the training programme for the Daltis Clan."

"I see ... and you're physical condition, anything to report there?"

"Just the use of Haze, Linshi-Ji, everything else according to training."

"If we dissallowed everyone who used Haze, our academy would be significantly smaller Daltis. "
