Kalei was born on July 7th in her birth-year, to the goddess of Love, Aphrodite, and a local Hawaiian man. She was born on Maui, and was quickly left by her mother who had to attend to her duties, and therefor she was left with her father. Because of the nature of her mother, and her being the goddess of love and beauty, she never doubted her or felt abandoned because she knew her mother loved her but just couldn't be with her.
For the first four years of her life she grew up with a single dad, but eventually her father married a lovely Hawaiian native, and they had two younger brothers for Kalei and a few years after the brothers a younger sister came too. Unlike most of the campers of Camp Half Blood, Kalei has had a good life with a stable home and she didn't join camp because she was chased down or struggled with a parent who had side-effects of having been with a god, no she only went to camp because her father had been told it would provide her with a better safety net when she grew up.

Like most demigods, Kalei possesses inborn supernatural battle reflexes and senses that she uses to analyze the fighting style of her opponent - which in the human world appears to the human eye like ADHD, which she was diagnosed with at an early age. As well as ADHD she was also diagnosed with dyslexia, but much like the ADHD, it's just the human eye not knowing that her brain is hardwired for ancient greek making her incapable of reading her mother language particularly well.
|Amokinesis|As a daughter of Aphrodite, Kalei has a level of control over the emotions of love, lust, etc., but on a much smaller scale than her mother. Which translated means that she can to some extent infect those around her with those emotions, or turn up the volume on something that was otherwise rather muted. At camp she has been nicknamed 'Cupid' due to her annoying habit of interfering with others relationships, because of this power.
In addition to this ability, she is also capable of reading peoples emotion quite well, always having a sense of what mood they are in, without them ever letting her know. You can call her a weak empath.
|Charmspeak|Kalei has the power of charmspeak, which allowed her to influence others with enhanced vocal persuasiveness. With this power she is capable of convincing almost anyone to around her to do something in her favor, however she doesn't really use it unless there is a dire need for it, because she feels it is like taking away peoples personal choice.
|Beauty|Regardless of how she looks and what she wears, Kalei is able to radiate beauty, which sometimes prevents enemies from willingly attacking her even as she charges them head-on. She can also attract the opposite sex (or same sex) when she walks by, and she might have the ability to change her physical features (though undiscovered). Her beauty is an ability down-right inherited from her mother, which also means that even someone who wouldn't see her as "their type" if she didn't have this ability, would still be enchanted by her as she walks by. This is an ability that she particularly hates, as it often means that people tend to like her for her looks, rather than what she has to offer, even if they can't really help it.
|French|Due to french being the "language of love" all Aphrodite kids are naturally fluent in the language from birth. Kalei is no exception to this, and to her french comes as easy to her as english and greek does, and she is beyond comfortable in communicating in the language. Since her brain is kind of wired for it, it doesn't matter that she doesn't use it as much, she will never lose it.
