GENERAL |NAME| Born William Sherlock Scott Holmes; preferential nomenclature: "Sherlock Holmes" |NICKNAMES| Consulting Detective, Freak, Sociopath, Sherl, Sherly, Shezza, 'The Virgin' -- several expletives too colorful to note. |D.O.B.| January 6th (Capricorn) |BIRTHPLACE| Musgrave Hall, the Holmes family ancestral seat where a little-known family tidbit with a verse riddle had been handed down from generation to generation that had not been solved until Sherlock Holmes followed its instructions to discover concealed treasure dating back to the time of the English Civil War. |PERSONALITY TYPE| INTJ | Enneagram Type 5 |APPARENT AGE| Mid to late 30s. |SPECIES| Human |NATIONALITY| British |GENDER| Male |SEXUALITY| Demisexual / Asexual, arguably Sapiosexual |RELATIONSHIP| Nonexistent |

PHYSICAL |HEIGHT| 1.84 m (6'0") |WEIGHT| 79 kg (174 lbs) |BUILD| Lithe, svelte physique, with a wiry, albeit athletic frame. Trim, underweight, but cut and formidable. Despite his rawboned stature, Sherlock is a trained professional in both boxing and Bartitsu. |SKIN| Ivory pallor, most often a hint to his predilection for poor life choices and natural physiognomy, but London's anecdotally gloomy overcast also attributes to his fair complexion. |SCARS| There are implications of a curious, yet troubled past about his arms and thighs, whereas other such scars have come from experimental mishaps, scuffles, and other such fracas. |EYES| Sherlock has central heterochromia; having more than one distinct eye color. Different hues of maddeningly brilliant blues, greens, and browns wash sporadically throughout piercingly analytical irises, while an unsubtle shade of flecked gold borders the apposing pupils. |HAIR| A nearly unkempt mass of auburn and raven wild curls sit in cherubic whorls atop Sherlock's head. Often parted to one side and kept from obscuring his line of sight, he has a tendency to ruffle them in idle frustration or doing so as a method of resettling them accordingly. |SCENT| A smooth, subtle essence that would not interfere with daily sleuthing. Clean, smoky, unobtrusive, yet an aroma of intrigue, something poignant, self-important, a bouquet of intensity and chilling intelligence. It's the sort of alarming emanation that wreaks of genius, back-alley dealings, pine and honey, and tobacco. He may also bear different auras as he adopts disguises. |VOICE| Uncompromisingly dry baritone that conveys a very cool, cerebral, and slightly superior air of mystery. It can be otherwise versatile, Sherlock Holmes a consummate actor who can deploy his voice like many other tools of his trade. A caustic logician, Sherlock can manipulate the world around him with a dark resonance, but his temperament can very quickly shift and he has all the grace and dignity of a child.

PERSONALITY |DEFINING TRAITS| A philosopher, Holmes is known for his talents with observation, deduction, cryptanalysis, forensic science, and logical reasoning that borders on the fantastic. He has essentially an obsessive personality and works compulsively on all of his cases. Sherlock often uses a memory retrieval technique called "the method of loci" which he refers to as his 'mind palace'. He will often perform core readings as well, using elements of appearances, behaviors, locations, etc. to arrive at astonishingly accurate conclusions. Sherlock is a proficient violinist, chemist, martial artist, and master of his own mind. |TEMPERAMENT| Perhaps Sherlock's most noticeable shortcoming is his proneness to boredom which drives him to bouts of, at times, crippling depression. In an effort to stave the monotony the detective would indulge in dangerous experimentations, erratic academic pursuits, torture his beloved violin, and descend into other questionable forms of escapism. He can be dispassionate and cold, yet, during his peak, is animated and excitable. Sherlock is a self-confessed show-off and can be utterly tactless, having absolutely no social skills. While manipulative, he is able to communicate effectively with all types of people hailing from different backgrounds, treat them with individual respect without biases, and thus creating his unconventional networks. Sherlock Holmes is quite mercurial, caustic to a fault with a dark sense of humor, painstakingly arrogant, but is not entirely unselfish. |INTELLIGENCE| Intelligence does not define maturation, yet Sherlock is observant and perceptive to details, possesses a creative imagination, a keen ability to focus and concentrate outside of exterior distractions, comprehend and predict human behavior, and has an extremely developed ability to make connections using seemingly unrelated data. Holmes's primary tool is abductive reasoning, a form of reasoning that, using inference, moves from observation to a hypothesis that accounts for observation. Sherlock constantly pushes his boundaries: testing the limits of his body by refusing to eat or sleep during cases, suppressing his emotions, his humanity, or disregarding those who care about him in his pursuit of perfection. |PRIORITIES| The chase. |ACCESSORIES| Sherlock's inventory accommodates the needs at the moment. A good detective will always be prepared for any possibility, yet he has a tendency to favor the riding crop, his magnifier, his cellphone, and at times, a pistol. Sherlock will not hesitate to utilize his environment and other essential tools of the trade as needs demand.
