Is there really anyone who hates Dionysus? Really? Other than AA members, I can’t really think of anyone. The god is the most jovial of sorts. He loves you, your mum, your dog - hell, everybody (even your deep seeded issues)! And hell wouldn’t be an understatement as there’s simply so much mythos out there that pairs him with Hades it might be strange for some of you to separate the two in your minds. In this representation, let’s make it simple and cast them as regarding each other as brothers, not one singular entity with the same face, although Dionysus and Hades could make themselves appear identical.

Raised by Rhea, (Hades' biological mother), and made ever faithful to her as she cured his madness, he learned her rites and ventured through Asia teaching the mortals of the world how to make wine; his best gift, aside from intoxication itself, the true depths of pleasure and madness. Let’s be honest though, knowing madness as he did so intimately, Dionysus used madness as his best weapon, instilling it in people who did him wrong. Lycurgus, king of Edonia, being the best example of this. Clearly though, Di had no regrets because dead wife and child weren’t his issue.

However, that might be because with his brotherhood with Hades, death seems like a good sacrifice and showing of love. A sign of devotion? Oh, probably. But there is a sad truth, for Dionysus, whatever lover he has come to have died, whether by their own hand or Perseus, the prick. And of course, - this wouldn’t be true Grecian mythology without it, - Perseus is Di’s half brother. Familial relations aren’t ever good with this one, except Rhea and Hades. That all being said, none of this should come at any surprise that Dionysus is very close to Hades. There's no one he would rather owe favors to, or spend time with when he can actually pull himself away from all the mortals he dabbles with. Humanity is an endless source of entertainment, especially as sex becomes so much a part of modern day life. While humanity hasn’t truly evolved that much over the few millennia, it is all the better with the modern day luxuries they insist upon making. With indulgence being abundant, there’s a little Di in everyone and he is totally fine with it. As aforementioned, Di can change

appearances on a whim and generally does so depending upon his mood, where he is & who he happens to be with just for kicks. On the whole though, he does have a default face, appearing as a silver fox, a strange contrast to his older brother Hades, who when wearing a mortal appearance looks a generation younger. When it concerns Dionysus' default look, he knows he gets that much right when among us mere mortals as people give him accepting, sometimes even lascivious looks. He fits the bill of a gentlemanly man, satisfying the bedroom daddy issues. But it may be an issue if he gets to rambling his mental musings aloud. He has been known to ask random passers by their opinions or if they've ever had similar thoughts which unfortunately tend to create a wide area of avoidance around him on a city sidewalk as though he were a tweaking junkie. Not to say that he actually might be on something at that moment in time, so it's very on the nose.
