When an individual first encounters Vaenys, they will find themselves overcome with shock or fear as her appearance is taken into account. Her demonic lineage is not something that she can so easily hide unlike other tieflings or cambions – inheriting the infernal traits that a demon who is described as monstrous would only possess. Standing at the spindling height of five foot and eleven inches, it is difficult to overlook her presence in a room. With skin that is the color of ash but feverish to the touch as if fire burns within her veins, Vaenys has been graced with a body with an hourglass figure that one could describe to be sylphlike – each and individual rib on display despite her gluttonous appetite and raptor like feet that are five toes ending in claws. Fingers are long, spidery and ends with sharp claws on each fingertip. At the end of her coccyx – extends a slender tail that ends to a feathered spade-shaped tip, either curling around her feet while she stands, swishing side-to-side as she walks, or lashes in the direction of the nearest irritant.

It is an eerie experience when conversing with Vaenys – continuously staring into the large, catlike eyes and the elongated canines that are forever present within her smile. She is attractive when it comes to how her facial features align, if not alien. Diamond shaped face with angular cheeks, a delicate nose and cupid bow lips. Hidden between those pale lips lies sharpened canines on both upper and lower mandible, along with a serpentine tongue colored a dull gray. With eyebrows absent - the eyes are unusually large and rounded, the golden amber irises overtaking the black sclera to the point that it is near unseen through the socket opening. Upon her otherwise void of color skin lies a pale rose tint to the lips and a gold bronze shadow around the eyes. White hair falls smoothly around her face like silk, slowly shifting to flaxen at the tips which end at the clavicle. Along the frontal portion of her skull holds two horns on either side, leaving an absent space on her forehead.

Vaenys’s person is usually adorned in attire best fitted for one of her status. Usually the shades of gold, blue, black, or red are found on her body, but will wear whatever is given to her by the master or mistress. Caps of gold may decorate her horns or bands of silver may be wrapped about her tail so that the appendage will not be left naked. She much prefers gowns that leave her completely covered from head to toe rather than wearing breeches but will do so if it is ultimately necessary and unavoidable. Almost always, when going out into the world of public space, will she wear a large cloak over herself in order to hide the demonic features of her person in order to act unimpeded. Of course, a dagger is hidden up the sleeve of her left and right wrist on the off chance she is face with the possibility of an assault and needs the means to defend herself from harm’s way.

The tiefling walks through the world with leisure, unhurried by what is ahead or behind her with the scent of incense, ink, & musty parchment drifting off muted flesh. It is almost a ridged motion in itself – back and shoulder straight, head leveled to show that she is not intimidated or lowered in a submissive manner, and hands held below her bosom at all times. But when a relax state of mind and position – Vaenys will remove the appointed mask that she was handed from a young age and act freely on her own accord for a certain amount of time which it is allowed. Teeth will bite the tip of her tongue when she is excited, tail will swing side-to-side when happy, or the pupils to her eyes will thin into slivers whenever she is annoyed or angry. It is not common knowledge – but because of her bloodline, blood black as pitch will flow instead of crimson once she is cut with a blade. As well, in terms of aura, a dark shade of indigo surrounds her person.

Contrary to those of her kind – Vaenys is far from volatile or violent. In her youth she may have been known for her heated temper, but that was stomped out of her long ago in order under the threat of severe punishment or a painful death. Now she possesses a quiet, somber demeanor about her with minimal glimpses of a smile and converses in a soft tone of voice. It is because of this that she is very patient with others and willing to wait to accomplish to meet her goals. Even when put under great deals of stress she will not break into a sweat nor display it openly across her facial features unless the situation is most dire.

Attention is something that Vaenys avoids if she can help it. To accomplish this, she dresses in such a way that hides her infernal nature and holds the traditional mindset that she is inferior compared to others. Never is her voice spoken in a loud octave nor does she share her opinions with others so that she may be nothing more than insignificant and undeserving of the unwanted gazes. She will shrink away when touched or spoken too, keeping her gaze adverted under the pretense of being a mousy little thing in order to hide that she is indeed a scheming rat like everyone else who hides behind masks.

Vaenys is hailed for being respectful towards her betters, always obedient and willing to do what is ordered of her. Even in the face of bad manners will she treat them with respect with a force smile. It always makes her happy to know that she has done something correctly, not even needing praise or reward in return of completing such duties so long as they are not detrimental to the health of others and herself. She is not foolish and knows where her actions may lead to. Whatever the case – Nyssie will work with a smile on her face to get the job done so that she may live another day.

Instilled into her at a young age, Nyssie has always been possessed a love to learn and a curious drive to seek out answers to questions that elude her. It is because of the growing knowledge that was brought on by a multitude of tomes – she has become far more worldly unlike those of her age. The tiefling would much rather prefer to remain in the safe confines of a library with a nose in a book rather than exploring the world for herself on the back of a mounted beast and it is because of such habits that her social skills are severely lacking.

The need to survive is an inherent trait that she shares with demons. Vaenys was born into a world where one can die with a single misstep – so she takes many steps in order to prolong her lifespan so that she may not be like the many others before her who lost the game that the realm brings. Every word and action are spoken on purpose in order to protect herself, and will not speak nor react if she knows that it will not benefit her or if there will be consequences to said actions. This side of her is usually hidden from others as to not be suspicious or to lose the trust of those who look fondly upon her.
