Alaine was born in Alabama, the firstborn child to Roger and Laverne Barrows. She soon became the oldest of six children and grew into a mature and responsible young woman, often tasked with looking after her siblings or helping her parents out with different things. When she turned 19 her parents suggested she go to college and get a degree, but in the end that didn't work out; after a year at home trying college again in an online format, Alaine finally decided it was time she leave the nest and find her own adventure.........

➼ Physical: Despite not being in peak physical condition, Alaine will often push herself past what she's capable of when she deems it necessary and can go far longer than she really wants to. She has a tendency to neglect herself sometimes when it comes to sleep or being sick and typically hides/plays off her injuries and illnesses so as not to be a hindrance. Not to mention she grew up in a situation where visits to the doctor were hard to afford, so she's learned to tough through a lot of things and make home remedies. Otherwise, she enjoys manual labor jobs and does do her best to stay healthy within her means.
➼ Social: In social situations she's friendly and will often take the initiative in a conversation if necessary, though she really prefers not to and would honestly prefer to avoid being social at all. Sometimes she even comes across as extraverted due to her focus on making sure a situation's comfortable for everyone involved. She's neither a leader nor a follower yet she often finds herself being looked up to and followed, which she greatly dislikes. She makes acquaintances easily but finds it hard to really open up and make actual friends despite her overall friendly nature, even though she does sometimes want someone to be close to outside of her family.
➼ Mental: Alaine has pretty good mental stamina and a very strong willpower. She's rational, logical, creative, thinks on her feet and learns quick -- making her something of jack-of-all-trades, master of none. That said, there are some things her brain just doesn't compute, like math or mathematically-geared subjects and the sciences; despite excelling at English, History and Art in school, she always struggled terribly with Math and Science(s), and this always left her feeling a little dumb. She tries to avoid situations where mathematical or scientific skills beyond the basics are needed.

➼ Mannerisms: Typical nervous mannerisms include fiddling with objects she might be holding, repeatedly brushing her hair behind her ears, and shifting from foot to foot or changing seating positions multiple times. When she's embarrassed she behaves similarly, but will often have a tell-tale blush; she also tends to clasp her hands together when she's embarrassed more than when she's nervous. When she's deep in thought, Alaine will often be very quiet and either focus her eyes in the middle distance or continually shift her gaze from one place to the other; she often fiddles with her hands when in thought, but her actions are slower than when she's nervous. ➼ Love Language: [Gifts]. Alaine is a little awkward when it comes to expressing deep, genuine emotion, but she does have ways of showing it. More often than not Alaine appreciates and puts a lot of value in gift-giving; this might come from the fact that she grew up very poor and thus saw gifts as very special and meaningful, especially since her parents and siblings couldn't often afford to give each other gifts outside of Christmas and birthdays. When Alaine gets someone a gift, it's either something that reminded her of the person being gifted (or reminds her of something they have in common), something she knows they need or could really use, something they've expressed that they wanted very much, or something she made herself. Whenever she gives a gift, one can rest assured she put a great amount of time, thought, and care into it. Similarly, though she appreciates most forms of affection in some way or another, being given something often makes the most impact on her because, to her, it shows the other person cared enough to put their time, thought, and possibly money into something they thought she'd enjoy, all of which she values tremendously. At the same time excessive, overly expensive, or thoughtless/careless gifts make her very uncomfortable and definitely don't leave a positive impact.
