Alaine's belongings consist of 25 books; a couple of sketchbooks and some art materials (pens, pencils); a camera; a photo album; four horse figurines; a paperweight in the shape of a 4-inch long Chinese dragon; a small jar filled with fortune cookie fortunes; a black training sword made of polypropylene in the style of a hand-and-a-half/"bastard" sword; a switchblade in the shape of a bird's wing; her phone and charger; a small pillow shaped like a carton of french fries; a key to the truck she no longer owns and the accompanying keychain with a Captain America shield ornament; a small, well-worn compass; etc/wip

Wardrobe

Alaine's wardrobe consists of several pairs of lighter/worn jeans and two dark/"nice" pairs; several graphic tees; a couple of flannel button-ups; a nice, silky black button-up; a pair of black slacks; a worn leather jacket; a pair of fingerless gloves and a pair with fingers attached; a brown leather cowboy hat; a pair of worn, brown cowboy boots and a pair of shiny, black boots (for dressin' up, of course); three bandannas, black, red, and greyish blue; a bracelet made of braided leather; a red, blue, and green bracelet made of woven thread; a necklace with one fourth of a circle for the pendant, with an "A" engraved on the circle fourth; etc/wip

Chapter 1: Tour of NYC [pg 25]

Regret & Reform

Alaine will have a wave of anguish hit her with the black touching her, and she will regret something she forgot (you fill in whatever it is Alaine forgot). The forgetful thing is some kind of sin or thing she did that she regrets, or did not do that she regrets not doing. It will be on her mind from now on, something she wants to self-improve on. PS: Alaine! I know you rolled a 20. Please note, this thing about regret is not something that will destabilize Alaine mentally. It's just a regret. Please do not think this is going to make her nervous or anxious or a mental case, more like self-awareness and improvement stuff. I'm trying to help her bolster her mental stats.

Alaine remembered her college roommate's [Zoe's] suicide and how she blamed Alaine for her death in the note she wrote; for 5 years Alaine has tried to convince herself it wasn't her fault and she did what she could to help Zoe, but with this incident she came to realize she could have done more, and in the end she abandoned Zoe and her toxic behaviors to save herself. In an effort to improve herself and somehow make up for what she did five years ago, Alaine is determined not to abandon anyone like that again -- especially not Kay, who almost feels like a second chance.

Nerve of Steel [wip]

"Nerve of Steel", a genetic trait that went unactivated in her until a traumatic brain injury caused some swelling in her head and spine. For Alaine, this means she can learn skills to an expert level in 1/3 of the time it would take the average person.
