GENERAL |NAME| James "Jim" Rian Moriarty |NICKNAMES| Consulting Criminal, Dear Jim, The Spider, Napoleon of Crime, Daddy, Semtex Prince -- far too many, really. It's a marauder's guise to keep himself interested, invested, and undisclosed. |D.O.B.| October 29th (Scorpio) |BIRTHPLACE| Dublin, Ireland where he spent the majority of his youth in affluence learning the 'family business.' Jim eventually was shipped off to study abroad due to his transcendent acuity. The prodigy child frightened, confused, and put his family ill at ease, and while his parents wished only to nurture this gift, they maintained a safe distance from Jim as well. |PERSONALITY TYPE| ENTP | Enneagram Type 4 |APPARENT AGE| Mid to late 30s. |SPECIES| Human |NATIONALITY| Irish |GENDER| Male |SEXUALITY| Sapiosexual w/ male preference |RELATIONSHIP| Just like on Facebook, it's complicated... |
|
PHYSICAL |HEIGHT| 1.72 m (5'8") |WEIGHT| 68 kg (149 lbs) |BUILD| Slight and trim as he doesn't lack substance, but there's just not much of him there. Despite his diminutive stature, Jim is well-molded, formidable, and capable of insane feats of evasion. |SKIN| Pale, Irish fair; a cold marble-white that could paint asylum walls and was so sun-starved from spending far too much time locked away in scrutiny behind the artificial glow of technology. |SCARS| Hidden beneath his Westwoods and elaborate costumes, Moriarty bears the scars of his tortured past, having been mercilessly bullied as a child. The more notable, mathematically precise marks he carved himself during one of many meltdowns, and Jim seems to have no issue with decorating his flesh with careful, categorical strokes to pacify an incurable boredom and a need to be reminded of his identity. |EYES| Wildly luminous, murky obsidian in color, and brilliantly utilized to convey his flashing moods. Their unnerving ability to being totally dead and completely devoid of emotion and intensely sharp at any given point is a totem of Jim's being. |HAIR| Raven's wing black, uniformly maintained, and elegantly coiffed. Its kept appearance is preferable, though when lost, Moriarty's look is otherwise bedraggled, the sign of a stormy disposition. |SCENT| A smoldering and greedy medley of contemporary modernity, whiskey liqueurs, and oud that leads to a disjointed expedition into the Middle East, taking the classic idea of an English Gentleman into an unexpected and dark back alley. The agarwood is somber and risky mixing mysticism and corporate power with the sweetness of a Red Delicious. Moriarty wreaks of an original personality alloyed with a well-known story, and yet the wrenching shift into 'playing the role' or painting an imperceptible façade permeates. |VOICE| South Dublin accentuated, posh, and annunciated, Moriarty's tone can fluctuate between an even, dulcet intonation to a paroxysm of hellbent wrath gift-wrapped in a lilting, Irish drawl. Jim has an incredible capacity for altering his voice and behavior to suit his needs and administer his brand of psychological warfare - ranging from bloodless serenity, genuine humor, blatant mockery, sheer petulance, eventually winding up in a resonant ferocity. Due to this advantage, Moriarty is extremely difficult to read and anticipate.
"I've given you a glimpse -- just a teensie glimpse of what I've got going on out there in the big bad world. I'm a specialist, you see?"

PERSONALITY |DEFINING TRAITS| Moriarty is a man of good birth and excellent education, endowed by nature with a phenomenal mathematical faculty, yet he had hereditary tendencies of the most diabolical kind. A criminal strain ran in his blood, which, instead of being modified, was increased and rendered infinitely more dangerous by his extraordinary mental prowess. He is the Napoleon of Crime, the organizer of nearly all the undetected machinations of a vast and subtle criminal organization. As the greatest schemer of all time, behind every devilry, the controlling brain of the underworld, a mastermind which has the capacity to make or mar the destiny of nations, Moriarty employs terroristic techniques and intimidation strategies. He knows exactly what buttons to press in order to pressure, manipulate, or incite people. Jim also has a marked preference for organizing "accidents" in order to keep his hands immaculately clean. He has achieved influential leverage so as to make others commit crimes on his account, and thus a criminal web was weaved. |TEMPERAMENT| Moriarty bears a fiercely independent streak, is systematically savage, impulsive to a fault, and is typically not bothered by moral scruples, which he believes places him above any social rule. More radically, Jim gives the impression of being totally incapable of any empathy for his fellow human beings. Most people are objects to him -- tools, hindrances, targets, and the like. He is prone to obsession, aloof from general suspicion, immune from criticism, possesses a fiery disposition, yet reveals an icy resolution to getting what he wants regardless of the costs. Moriarty flourishes in the role of the Tempter, so admirable in his management and self-effacement, though quickly becoming incensed when his plans are thwarted or when placed in positive danger of losing his liberty. Being “so changeable” is the only weakness he acknowledges in himself obvious by the quick descent into mania, the erratic shifts in moods, and proneness to boredom. His genius makes him capable of long-term, refined planning; but the deficiency in his volatility undermines his mental stability and may, one day, be his undoing... |INTELLIGENCE| What makes Moriarty so dangerous aside from being playfully homicidal, is his extremely cunning intellect. The consulting criminal is an era-defining genius, a Machiavellian philosopher, and an abstract thinker. He is the cleverest rogue of the most powerful syndicate of criminals in Europe. Despite not really acknowledging his faults, Jim is affected by a mental pathology akin to an Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD), though he tends to relish in his imbalances. He genuinely believes that they set him above “ordinary," “boring” people which he feels allows for the flame of his genius to burn even higher; but also, in the end, is what consumes and occasionally inhibits him. Jim also has hyperthymesia, which is a condition where an individual possesses a superior autobiographical memory, never permitting, no matter how hard he tries, Jim to forget anything he's ever learned, experienced, endured, or witnessed. He tolerates a more extroverted savoir-faire despite his predilection for isolation, making it so others are more available and likely to be used for his advantage. He bears a weariness of the world, is oftentimes disengaged, and feels as though he's floating away. Some days he simply just doesn't give a damn -- in the end, James Moriarty is a detriment to his own life. |PRIORITIES| The game. |ACCESSORIES| Though not a boy scout, Jim adheres to the belief of always being prepared. He has the solution to every situation tucked away somewhere whether it is his vast network of connections, hired hands, his personal assistant, or, in dire straits, his favored Beretta 92FS Inox - 9x19mm. Moriarty is also equipped with the gift of gab, able to use elocution to sway the environment to his whims. He makes every effort to be well researched before any deciding factors, confrontations, or advisements should the situation turn abruptly south. |

FAMILIAL |PARENTS| Liam Ronan Moriarty (Father; Incarcerated), Deirdre Roisin McCarthy (Mother; Incarcerated) |SIBLINGS| Colonel James Declan Moriarty (older brother), James "Robert" Iosaf Moriarty (younger brother) |WEALTH| Born of Irish Catholic descent, the Moriarty family was well-to-do. They had an insatiable taste for luxuries and living beyond their means, amassing their assets through not only their family business but posing community activists and prodigious council members. Eventually, due to a lack of participation on Jim's part in familial endeavors, the Moriarty's lost a vast multitude of their revenue and found themselves on the run and eventually incarcerated for their questionable dealings. In turn, Jim built his own affluence through calculated investments, reversing a roller coaster of financial instability and maintaining the family's estate through his own means. The Consulting Criminal wears his newfound wealth in his choice of suits and accessories, something in his bearing and gestures, in his speech and general demeanor which screams “parvenu.” |CHILDREN| None. |EDUCATION| Aside from being a well-traveled, posh private-school prick, until Ma' and Da' lost it all, Moriarty eventually found himself at Stonyhurst College where he gained recognition for writing a treatise upon the Binomial Theorem. This led to him being awarded the Mathematical Chair at England's Durham University teaching in the Department of Physics. Jim also eventually became an author, writing a much-respected work titled The Dynamics of an Asteroid. After he became the subject of unspecified "dark rumors" likely caused by his family's clandestine pursuits in the university town, he was compelled to resign his teaching post and moved to London where he established himself in a professorship at Cambridge. He is revered as a multitalented genius, with a special mastery of mathematics, and has become internationally famous for his research and ideologies. |OCCUPATION| Consulting Criminal, an occupation of his own devising and one of which he declares that he is the only and greatest of its vocation. Moriarty is also a highly successful dabbler in the stock markets which, due to his pre-eminent understanding of all things numerical, finances all of his extracurricular activities. He also retains a chair at a highly esteemed college where he flaunts his brilliance and tenure like a milkshake that brings all the boys to the yard. Moriarty's ingenuity allows him to play a ghost with no defined identity or residence, without any hint at a past, which grants him the ability to be whatever he wants whenever he needs it. |ALIGNMENT| Lawful Evil |
