    The air around Saro felt at least 5 degrees colder- and her chilly gaze did nothing to soothe that. She had really earned that nickname, Lady Ice, through and through.

    Sarohildi hardly wore clothes fitting of a woman of her status- or even a woman. She preferred dark colors, men’s mourning clothing with a long black cape that hung down to her knees. Save for a white eyepatch over the ugly scars spanning her missing eye, most of her outfits were just that- dark and dreary. She kept her long brown hair in a braided bun, or a thick braid that trailed down her back- and on the job, her outfit included a thick wool hood and mask over her face.

    Not that the identity of the royal executioner was a secret- no, the nobles had simply found the sickening smile when she swung her axe or dropped the floor from under the condemned a darker scene than the death she caused. Saro didn’t mind it either- the pleasure she drew from her work was a deeply personal thing. If they didn’t want to see the joy, she’d amass a large collection of her masks, suitable for every moment, day or night, bringing death or accompanying the condemned to their dungeons.
