Allysa Lunara Kartal's charming but cold-demeanor can easily be traced back to her rough childhood. It all started out when she was dropped off outside of an orphanage in Chicago City, the US. Her files, which those at the orphanage claimed had been kept, were long gone by the time she thought to begin asking questions. However, her time in the orphanage was a short one. Allysa was discovered and recruited by the Castellano family, the biggest and most powerful crime syndicate of the American Mafia, at a young age for her highly sharp mind, agility and, perhaps most importantly, her gift for stealth and ability to disappear and blend into a crowd. She was told over and over, while growing up under the watchful eyes of Don Matteo, the head of the Castellano family, that she should be invisible, should simply fade away, that if possible, she should attempt to disappear completely so that no one would even remember she had existed.

The Castellano family was a mafia gang she’d heard about as a child and one she viewed as more of a powerhouse than the petty drug dealers around town. What they offered her was something far greater than just security and a roof over her head, they offered what she’d wanted the whole time, to feel powerful. Within the gang, it became vital to excel at something. New recruits were pitted against each other in never-ending, soul destroying competitions. Allysa was a good fighter, her hand-to-hand combat passable, but she was always too small and too slight to really stand out as a talented fighter. She did, however, have a brilliant eye, barely ever missing her target when it came to using guns or knives. So Allysa set out to become the best, shooting or throwing over and over again until it became almost impossible for her to miss a target. She was removed from general training and was taught everything she needed to know to become the Castellano family's best sharp shooter and sniper. Her resilience, sharp eyes and ability to move unseen would make her the perfect assassin, a spy and killer from the shadows. No one would dare to think that a pretty little girl like her would be capable of such horrors.

Allysa goes where she is told, kills who she is told, and disappears again. She may go on her life in the same manner, but Allysa is determined to exist. It was in this path that she found her true calling, and one that most people underestimated her for. It took a certain type of person to do the job she’d been slated for within the gang, but someone had to do it. At first, and for many years, she was trained and acted as the assassin of the Castellano family. Therefore, when they needed people to disappear she was called into action. The means in which she’d do so? Well, it just so happened that she particularly excelled in making people disappear. After all, she was pretty good at disappearing herself. It was a knack that kept her employed this long and what made her indispensable. Her hardened exterior and lack of emotion while working is what has kept her in the industry and her loyalty is what has earned her the spot as an assassin. It only helped to harden Allysa's already stony heart, and she quickly proved that lack of emotion would be useful for her position. Her peers quickly gave her the nickname The Wraith. Allysa, surprisingly, was not bothered by this but empowered by it.

To most people, Allysa comes off as if she doesn’t have a personality. One one hand, she's very cold and detached towards most people and especially her work. Life has pulled some shit on her one too many times and therefore, it’s hard for her to understand the concept of caring for someone. That kind of emotion has not been developed since she sees people as selfish – she’s never experienced anyone caring for her in a way that could change the latter. However, this doesn't mean that she isn’t nice or formal towards those she’s become accustomed to. She just doesn’t care about what people think of her, so she doesn’t actively try to make herself pleasing. On the other hand, when she wants to be, she can be extremely beguiling or even seductive towards people seeing as this can be a valuable asset to getting her ways or completing a job. In many ways, she is very calculating, precise, and smart. These can be seen in her line of work but also when she talks. When she does talk to someone there is always a reason for why she is wasting her breath. Being so detached has creeped over into her personal life and she views human interaction much as something that only necessary to exchange information or two extract information. Either way, she is unafraid to speak her mind and very unapologetic in her actions and that doesn’t gain her any points in the popularity department.

A significant portion of these are normal human beings born with a genetic variant called the "metagene", which causes them to gain powers and abilities during freak accidents or times of intense psychological distress.
⎨INTANGIBILITY⎬Allysa is a metahuman with the ability to pass through solid matter by passing her atomic particles through the spaces between the atoms of the object through which she is moving. This process is called "phasing" and it renders her almost completely intangible to physical touch. She passes through objects at the same speed at which she is moving before she enters them.
⎨TRACKING EVASION⎬Allysa has an uncanny talent for disappearing and blending into a crowd as she wants. She can’t be tracked down, all the traces of her passing disappear or is ignored: fallen hair, blood, skin particles, etc. will dissipate into dust and no scent is given off.
