The concept of what a parent is was lost on me at a young age. To be more exact they satisfied their singular condition of living in our world; to bare offspring. I was one of them and the other was my twin sister, Stella. After we were born, our father left to somewhere and our mother left us in the care of an orphanage. Among most who were not content with breeding with the opposing race, orphanages became popular for the mutts like us. Of course it wasn't all of us half breeds, unwanted human children also found their way to such a place, though in a more inconspicuous manner.

In our particular orphanage, for those of us who possessed Engur parents and those that did not, a sort of silent divide had been created between us, only being perpetuated by society.

Growing up, I remembered that sometimes people didn't like things different from themselves. Horns for example were something humans did not possess. Me, my sister and the other children like us were ridiculed for this by the human children. While our caretakers did their best to keep harmony among the young bodies, children can be cruel. We were simple and arguments could be boiled down past their source to simply being who had and did not have horns.

At first, such a thing was a rare occurrence but in one instance, I had deemed it had gone too far when Stella started crying because of some bullying. The ensuing argument started off the same as any other but I remember once I was shoved down, everything had gone black. When I had finally awoken, the bully lay at my feet in a bloody mess. As punishment for my actions, I spent a week in the solitude room, only receiving visits when it was meal time.

As the unrest between humans and their Engur saviors grew in size among the masses, the unrest turned to violence as humans begin to reproduce arms from one of their bygone errors. They directed their anger toward both Engur and half-Engur alike.

I had to be no older than eleven when it happen. The evening the orphanage was attacked and set ablaze. What human children that survived were taken away by our attackers, the rest of us were left to die. Maybe our attackers didn't care or perhaps we were merely a stepping stone, but they didn't make sure to finish us off properly, so some of us survived; me and my sister being one of the lucky few. The military sent a small group to our aid. From the previous years and this night, I begin to wonder if humans really desired salvation.

As the child of a Engur parent, me and my sister would come to possess abilities unavailable to humans. Humans knew this which was most likely the reason why we became victims. Our Engur elders also knew this as well, which is why they had begun looking toward our generation to help stop this senseless uprising. Seeing the consequences of what something more than an argument could have on those I had developed a interest in, I'd volunteer to join the military. I wouldn't allow Stella to do such a dangerous thing. No, I could keep her safe with the strength I sought.

Once I begin my training at the Cadet Corps, Stella was allowed to live in an apartment near the dormitory which I stayed in thanks to the help of the military; in order to keep us together in some respect.

The years of training were rough and having to work with those in my class was even more difficult. Military strategies, various weapons, our abilities and many other things, drilled into us each and every day. Some of us would be fighting on the frontlines after this, it only made sense. Yet none of it lessened my eagerness to get out there and help put this long standing revolt down once and for all.

With a little less than one year I just had to survive training and my classmates.

Amy is quite the existence. To say she's an introvert seems to almost be an understatement. When left alone or around the small group of those she is reluctant to admit she trusts, she does not exhibit any abnormal behavior. On the surface she appears to be that of a somewhat normal teenage girl. One could say that an aspect of her true nature is hidden below the surface; laid-back, cynical, misanthropic, Amy seems to hold little to no empathy for humankind.

To her, humans are selfish, emotionally driven, barbaric, illogical creatures with no redeeming traits; proving they are worthy of hating, so killing them isn't viewed as wrong since they are nothing more than animals. This view of humans as animals allows her to to tolerate humanity for whatever sins they may have caused or will cause. Imbalances are evened out by her hatred, so people could be absolved of all guilt in a sense. But this “forgiveness” also validates any evils that humans may perform.

She lacks any sense of justice, while topics of morality are viewed with a apathetic, rational, and sarcastic outlook that comes off rather robotic. Her concept of good and evil is nonexistent, allowing her to accept a person as they are.

A difficulty in being able to understand and display emotions has lead Amy to exhibit pervasive patterns of social inhibition. For those outside of her circle, she is generally distant, refusing to speak, but instead responding in simple gestures. It is such a rarity that she feels inclined to speak, that most believe her to be mute. Due to her desire to keep interactions with others to a minimal, she lives by three simple rules.

Rule 1: Don’t smile at people unless you want them to do something for you.

Rule 2: Don’t expect any birthday presents, and you don’t have to give any in return.

Rule 3: Make allies, not friends.

Those who attempt to get close to her are few and far between. Most are met with resistance as she attempts to push them away, either consciously or subconsciously; and doesn't understand why anyone would enjoy her company.

For those who have gained her interest, Amy is a friendly and respectful person. When she feels she can open up to someone, she becomes somewhat childish, friendly, possessive, and takes pleasure in giving those she cares about pet names. She is patient with a willingness to listen to those when they need an ear, as well as playing the protector if she feels they are in danger. Once her loyalty is earned, it is not something that can be lost easily. She craves attention, and when she does not receive it, she may become irritated. When irritated with or around people she trust, she can exhibit a few violent tendencies (playfully to an extent). When teased, or complimented, regardless of who it is, she grows easily fluster and may or may not make an insulting remark toward said person. Despite her friendliness toward some, she needs a lot of time alone.

In terms of her sister, Stella, Amy has developed an emotional dependency due to an inability to sort through her own emotions. If anything were to happen to Stella, she'd feel lost, opting to follow the most self destructive means to relinquish her inner chaos. If left alone, she will always choose the self destructive path for emotional releases over the healthy.

When it comes to things that require a great deal of attention, she devotes herself completely to what she is doing, which may sometimes cause her to overlook things she deems unnecessary to reach the goal she is striving for, more times than most. During times like this as well as when she feels she is in the right, she is very stubborn and uncompromising. Capable of performing in a leadership role, she will usually turn it down, preferring to work on her own. Help is not something she'll willing ask for and coupled with a habit of operating on her own without a word make her difficult to work with. In very rare instances will she deem the help of others necessary.

The other aspect of her true nature, Ami, bask in destruction, violence, and brutality. Unlike Amy, Ami is very vocal, particularly about how she feels and her intentions for whatever she has her sights on. She enjoys making snide, sarcastic comments but also being blunt and direct depending on her mood. Taunting and teasing are a past time for her, regardless if it's opposition or if someone catches her eye as a potential toy to play with. In the case of the later, just like her other half, she can be rather childish, but much more possessive with flirtatious tendencies sprinkled in. If Amy's violence toward those close to her is playful, Ami's is simply cruelty of varying degrees.

Socialization is reserved for Stella and for those she wants something from. She has no problem using others to satisfy her desires, especially when her other self has already forged are image of who they are within the other person's mind.
