    His hair is shaved completely bald, though he seems to have a full beard and mustache. Both of the latter are well groomed with a soul patch in constant stages of growth. The facial hair grows straight, thick and ink jet black. His expression is almost cherubic, if not simply naïve and playful. He looks as if he is always on the verge of laughter. Simon's a large man, always seeming to draw the attention that he'd rather avoid. He still has his moments of flashiness and feels more comfortable when dressed in nice clothing.

    His eyes are a dark blue. His skin is quite fair, with the slightest olive undertones sprinkled across his complexion by way of many tiny freckles.

  • Life At Sea

    PO1 Janos is stationed aboard the cruiser VNS Auster. It is a part of an imperial navy of which his small nation is a commonwealth of. In this case the term commonwealth truly is a glorified term for an outright colony. The Greater Empire still avoids the latter term for fear of appearing as overbearing as it is.

    Simon Janos still enjoys serving in the Navy, at least for the most part. Life at sea can be dull at times. His day typical starts off with several hours of exercise. Since his job is not critical to running or maintaining the ship, he has more of a free reign than certain other jobs. He still has various shifts and duties to pull on watch. Much of his time is spent constantly training and refining his skill.

    His main job is to spot targets for naval artillery and air strikes. The former can be rare in today’s battleship-less era. Modern naval vessels have smaller guns than the classic multi-turreted flagships. There is still a need for eyes to help guide the weaponry of today. Part of his job includes being able to move with ground forces in order to coordinate naval assets.

    Janos must operate and maintain sophisticated equipment. As a petty officer, he has a role leading junior enlisted members as they develop their own skills. This is a role which fills him with the most pressure. He knows he is responsible for them and wants to ensure the team chemistry is as smooth as their finely tuned equipment.
